We stayed at L'Auberge for one night and took the French cooking class. It was supposed to be a 2 hour class. We had a full day of fun! There were 3 couples and we ended up staying in the kitchen for several hours, eating, laughing and then retiring to wine & cheese in front of the fire until dinner time. Benedict - the chef is marvelous. He is worth the price alone. He is not only a very superior chef but a fabulous teacher. He was completely willing to answer every question. He ended up spending a lot time teaching us unplanned things. It is noteable that he & L'Auberge had a wine tasting and an 11 course dinner starting that same afternoon but never once were we hurried or made to feel that the dinner was more important. Benedict had the kitchen so well prepared that everything went off without a hitch. The food is well worth the price and the drive. The rooms are beautiful.

Room Tip: The "rooms" are wonderful. Suites are nice but the rooms are much less and just as wonderf...

My husband took me to L'Auberge Provencale B&B for a kid-free weekend getaway in Virginia wine country. The hospitality was excellent and the rooms were very nice. We had a fireplace in our room, plus a private bathroom that was a nice size for a B&Band the mattress was firm and comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and the food was delicious! The chef came out and spoke with us at the end of the meal and the entire evening was just fabulous. Breakfast the next morning was also very good. We enjoyed visiting a few local wineries as well. All in all I highly recommend this B&B for a great short weekend getaway from the city.

The room, service, dinner, snacks, staff conversations, and including the steam shower - all wonderfully appreciated and sincerely delivered. We spend several weekends a year at select B&B's and L'Auberge will become a highlight for our B&B memories. Our thanks to everyone there!

Room Tip: We were in Suite #7 and we were able to take advantage of a special price for our stay. Bed was a ve...

How do you walk out of a career of 39 years and transition to rest, luxury, natural beauty, and great service? Spend night or more at L'Auberge! Driving away from DC we could literally feel the tensions ease away from us... And arrival at the Inn was perfect. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed with every needed amenity. The staff is helpful and enthusiastic about their work. Even when the Inn lost power for 2 hours due to horrible winds they met our needs, managed to cook a scrumptious dinner and the candlelight both in the Inn and in our room was perfect. This is an ideal getaway. More than a Bed and Bakfast, the dinner was excellent as was the breakfast. It was great to arrive and have everything we needed and not need to hunt for a dinner spot. The grounds are lovely too. A must do, easy trip om DC!

Beautiful place with a great location. Very friendly hosts and the food was to die for. Probably the best food of my entire life, although Im still young. Free goodies to snack on during the day. Host gave us a wine touring map that was good for free tastings. The room was okay. The bed spread was a bit worn but the sheets were very soft and nice. I think it probably looked nicer in the picture than it did in real life. Lots to do in the area. Could definitely have stayed longer than two nights. All in all a very romantic and beautiful location and place to stay.
