My fiancé and I wanted to see the real Vermont and learn about its history and witness the Vermont October foliage and learn about local hidden gems. Dick and Sharon O'Connor were our guides; Dick in the morning for a historical tour of Bennington where we learned about Ethan Allen and how Vermont became a state, and observation of local architecture and covered bridges. Sharon in the afternoon for what she described as a more "fluffy" tour of foliage, marble quarries, pottery shops, kitchen stores, and maple syrup production farms, topped off by feeding llamas apple slices! Both had excellent recommendations for local restaurants and shopping. Sharon made a point of knowing a bit about of each of her passengers before the tour started, and she engaged each of us about our homes and interests and got the group to learn about each other and engage in fun discussions as the tour progressed. We highly recommend these tours to folks visiting Vermont for the first time.
