Magic is a fantastic little mountain with a lot of heart. It's got fantastic, steep, challenging diamond slopes, some great blues, and nice long beginner trails. They have snowmaking (granted, not the huge capacity that nearby Stratton has, but they don't have the overpriced lift ticket, the long liftlines, or the snobby people that Stratton does either!) The red chair is a double, yes, but it's fairly speedy and since there's rarely a wait at the bottom, so it gives the legs a few much needed minutes to relax after hitting the trails hard. The lodge is basic but very friendly. Plenty of space for stowing bootbags and lunch packs. There's a grill and coffee bar that serves tasty food all day. The after hours bar is fun - with a deck that looks out on the slopes, and a basic but fun atmosphere. You won't find shearling upholstered lounge chairs, but you will find a comfy stool at the bar, great drinks and food, and a lot of fun people. Another perk - parking is literally steps away - no waiting for a bus from lot a to lot b!
Bottom line: no corporate stuff, just a focus on what's important - skiing!

This mountain is one of the most underrated mountains on the east coast. It's very similar to Mad River Glen. Help Keep the Magic alive.

Also the location is incorrectly marked on the map though tripadvisor refuses to change it. It shows it as being in Landgrove town center (also incorrectly placed) when it's located further East on Rt. 11 right at the Blue Gentian.
