Owner description: Smugglers' Notch Distillery® is a father/son partnership in Jeffersonville, Vermont. The distillery was founded in 2006 at the foot of the famed Smugglers' Notch, site of many a clandestine bootlegger's run through this rugged Vermont mountain pass. The smuggling route was actually first used during the 1800s to move goods during the trade embargo and then again in the 1920s to move liquor during prohibition. Today this enchanting area provides outdoor enthusiasts with a boulder-laden curved mountain road and caves to explore. Smugglers' Notch Distillery® provides Carefully crafted, award-winning spirits. Using the finest ingredients blended with pristine Vermont spring water, we make, barrel age, blend, and hand-bottle remarkably distinctive, spirits one small batch at a time.

The Vodka they distil here is an award winning vodka, but the hops infused gin has overtones of juniper that makes it a lovely afternoon addition to cold tea! Tastings are free at the distillery, and if you buy it on Monday at the Smuggkers Nitch County Fair you get a discount!

Because they're great, and I know they're great. Last couple of times I've been there the place has been packed, so I just grab my traditional bottle of bourbon and I'm on my way. The good thing is that if I just buy, they will take care of me right away. Even bought and display the sticker.

We did the tasting and had a wonderful time. Our host was super friendly and informative. The owners even stopped in to say Hello and visit with their Southern guests! We bought several bottles and gifts. Highly recommend for a fun adult activity for great and unique tasting distilled spirits!

This location has several different types of spirits as well as gift sets and bourbon maple syrup. These all make excellent gifts and souvenirs. The staff is happy to see free a tasting to help in the decision making.

This is a good stop if you like strong drink. The prices are inflated IMHO. After returning home my friends did a blind taste test against other similar drinks and the Smugglers
Notch products did not stand up. Not saying they aren't good but very pricey for the quality. It would be nice to have a small tour, but it is not available. Their logos are outstanding so the bottles look beautiful.
