Owner description: A barn-museum crammed with huge paper-mache puppets, masks, sculpture and bas-reliefs.
Reviewed 21 July 2017 via mobile

Most of the puppets were made for events or performances that deal with Social or Political issues. The good vs bad of it all. The grotesque shapes and faces of each puppet makes it own statement. Many of the puppets will take you back to earlier issues that impacted negatively on either human life or life in general.

These "cult" shows are held every Sunday, starting July, at 3:00 PM. There are two separate shows, running consecutively, the main show held in the open air and a puppet show in one of the barns. The main "circus" is an interesting cultural experience, not to everyone's taste. Kids seem to have times of their lives, especially at the puppet show.
The museum is a must. In fact, after watching the show I realized that even if we missed it, the museum would be worth the visit.

Huge barn full of handmade puppets and displays protest and social awareness. The people working on the farm are an enlightened dedicated bunch.

A coworker heard I was travelling through Vermont and said I should see this place. It's out there, both in location and overall experience. There is no real entrance, cashier, or guidance. You just go check out the barns full of stuff. Amazing collections of puppets of all sizes, posters, propaganda. The barn is segmented into long hallways (turn off the lights) and some displays have explanations, others you figure out on your own. Some detailed photo books are available for sale, as is other works of cheap art. Drop your purchase dollars or donation, or both in the donation box.

Possibly the most creative Art form that can be experienced. It is puppetry, music, costumes, political satire and just remarkable. The museum is open most days and I think all days (need to be checked) The performances are at fixed times and have changed over the years. Our last few visits have been both on Friday evenings and most recently, Sunday Afternoons. It is engaging for all ages. Truly one of the most unique forms of entertainment. Personally, have been going since the mid 70's but distance keeps me from going as often as I would like to. A bucket list must. A necessary life experience
