“Quaint, Quiet, Lovely”
Reviewed 13 October 2009

My husband and I were traveling to a wedding and this Inn was not far from either the ceremony or the reception. We arrived earlier than we anticipated but Suzy knew we might be in before the actual check-in time. She had the room all ready for us. She made sure that we were situated and had everything we might need, before taking her leave and letting us explore a bit.

The inn itself is quite lovely, but add to that a gift shop / tea room and it's an experience we won't soon forget. With only three bedrooms, you certainly feel like you are at home and not in one of those huge, impersonal hotels. The ONLY negative was that our bedroom was upstairs and we had to go downstairs and through the gift shop area in order to use the bathroom. A little awkwards, yes; did it ruin the atmosphere, not completely.

The breakfast service was excellent! Homemade pancakes with apples & raisins; fresh fruit; and tea! The selection of quality teas was impressive (and we love tea!).

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Rose Arbour immensely, mainly due to Suzy's (the owner's) desire to make us feel at home. She was very accomodating and helpful. If we need to stay in this area again, we will certainly consider the Rose Arbour.

My husband and I spent one night at Rose Arbour on a road trip through Vermont. It is unlike a typical B&B in that the place is also a Tea Room and gift shop by day... this makes it a bit more interesting than your run of the mill austere B&B! The downstairs is filled to the brim with all kinds of beautiful and quirky items for sale, and the eating area is bright and cozy. The rooms upstairs are nicely decorated and very comfortable. The common area upstairs is also very nice and includes books and games. The whole building is filled with personality and spunk and the owner, Susie, was beyond friendly and accommodating. Her pancakes were amazing, too! We would definitely stay there again.

This was a wonderful bed and breakfast attached to a high quality tea rooms and gift shop. The breakfasts were superb and not too sweet for our european tastes! The accomodation was of a high standard, clean, comfortable and relaxing, with a guest sitting room which made a huge difference to the normal b & B experience. The innkeeper was welcoming , hospiable and we are just sorry that we couldn't have stayed longer (or had time to try any of the lunches!). This was a lovely experience and Chester is a beautiful village perfect for visiting the Vermont area, and we would recommend visiting Baba Louis Bakery for wonderful bread ,pizzas and salads.
