“Lunch at the Rose Arbour”
Reviewed 20 October 2011

When traveling through Chester, Vermont last week, we observed a small sign on the main street saying "lunch". The lunch venue was a small cafe inside the Rose Arbour B&B. The mention of the specials of butternut soup and Guiness braised beef inticed us to enter this cozy restaurant on a chilly autumn day. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and were immediately seated and told the specials. My wife ordered the Guiness Braised Beef and I ordered a turkey panini with pesto-mayo and cranberries. We were both delighted as the flavors of both dishes were creatively crafted with layers of flavors that blended perfectly. The chef is totally dedicated to perfecting her cooking skills and proved her worth to me a retired chef-owner of sevceral successful restaurants. I would recommend this highly as a perfect place to enjoy fine food and a welcoming atmosphere. Quaint and lovely is this tea shop. I will make the Rose Arbour Tearoom a lunch destination often in the future.

My husband and I stayed here when attending the wedding of friends. It has lovely accommodations -- nice bedrooms and a great living room that is perfect for an afternoon of reading and relaxation. There is also a nice wraparound porch if you prefer to sit outside. The food and the tea were delicious! In addition to the complimentary breakfast, we also had lunch here. I had the cheddar/apple quiche and recommend it to anyone. Suzy, the innkeeper, went out of her way to make our stay restful and enjoyable. We would certainly stay here again!

Bumblechick Food stopped in for the Afternoon Tea. I have to say this is one of the best we've been to. The price made it even better! The scones were excellent and the presentation was perfect. The tea was also properly made, something that is actually not that common!

We didn't stay at Rose Arbour but we had tea there as we were passing through Chester. We had a wonderful salad and the most fantastic, light scones that I have had in many a year. If you think scones are what they serve up in coffee bar chains, think again. If we had been staying in the area we would have eaten at Rose Arbour again. Some of the best food we had during our stay in New England.
Thanks

We stayed at the Rose Arbour B&B for three nights over President's Day weekend. We couldn't recommend the Inn more highly. It was cozy, charming, quiet, and a wonderful little get-away spot. Suzy the owner was nice as can be, helpful, and a wonderful chef. We greatly enjoyed her delicious breakfasts (the most fluffy Blueberry Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, and Stuffed French Toast), complete with fresh fruit and wonderful coffee. Our Queen room was nicely decorated in traditional Victorian style with homey touches like a comfortable rocking chair, and fresh cookies daily. The room was very well priced as we had a shared bath, which didn't bother us at all. For guests wanting a private bath there is one room to accommodate them. We had a chance to peek at some of the other rooms before they were occupied (I thought they were lovely), and can say they are all pretty and unique. As we are dog lovers we got a big kick out of the Inn's two Huskies, Jenny and Myah. If you do not like dogs or simply would prefer not to be greeted by them during your stay, simply let Suzy know and she will ensure they remain out of the common areas. All in all, a wonderful stay, we are hoping for a big snowstorm so we can return this winter.
