I stayed here two nights on a recent trip. The check in was quick and the welcome was good.
I was given a lodge at the back of the resort. It was large, but as this is mainly a ski resort it was what I would expect from a room like that.
We ate at the Castle restaurant. I personally loved it, however some In The group were disappointed with the speed of service and had cold meals.
I would stay here again, but definitely need transport as in the middle of nowhere.

If this was a charming hotel with crackling fireplaces, and quaint room touches, with none of the intrusions of the modern world, I might be willing to give this place a great review. But instead, they're hard at work removing the charm of this place, but still want to charge you an arm and a leg for it.
The rooms are large, and feel cold and unwelcoming. Part of this is due to the in-usable fireplaces. Part of this is due to the large air conditioner installed up above the closet. Sure, it works great, but it certainly detracts from the "historic charm" this place should have. Bathrooms have been remodeled - great - unless you like a bathroom from 2016 and a bedroom from 1920. Want to charge your phone? Good luck with outlets from 1940s that have no 3-prong outlets among them. Unless, of course, the one in the bathroom. Have fun using the iron in the bathroom! Do you like trying to go to the bathroom while your significant other watches? You're in luck! The GLASS DOORS to the bathroom are just what you are looking for! You get to hear and see it all, folks!!! Oh and look - your bedroom has a neat old bookcase - with FAKE OLD BOOKS. Those little statues and stuff? Marshalls. $5. No joke. Go ahead - lift them up - the price tags are still on them. "Made in China". Oh but not what you pay for a room! That's All-American baby!!! Hey look - a neat old elevator! That doesn't work. That you can't use.....
Hm well how about that library downstairs? DON'T TOUCH THE OLD BOOKS THERE! RED ALERT!!!
Oh but you can sit and enjoy a drink there - while people trying to eat dinner across the hall try to ignore you in the deathly quiet of the first floor. Don't bring your own booze to the library - because you can't be trusted! See warning for the books - same deal - RED ALERT!
If this place had bedrooms with quaint charm, like working fireplaces and no weird amalgam of modern day appliances, I would love it. But it doesn't. If the elevator worked and I didn't have to see and hear my loved one use the bathroom, I would love it. If being in the library wasn't so terribly awkward and un-fun, I might love it. They're charging prices that include charm, where it's all been removed.

We went here for a couples weekend. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the castle and were very comfortable staying there. Very well kept property with historical fixtures, furniture in the rooms. Dinner in the the restaurant was delicious and worth the price. We will definitely go again.

I travel a lot on my own for business so I am very accustom to the "glamour" of hotel life. I spent a couple of nights by myself at the Pointe Hotel, but this time was for leisure...I needed a quick relaxing- "charge your batteries" time. This was my first time in this area and let me tell you: IT WAS PERFECT! I spent most of my time at the pool at the spa and the sister propriety- The Beautiful Castle.
My first night there I ventured up the hill to see the beautiful mansion. I was greeted by the very friendly concierge, Braca. He offered to show me around and then introduced me to Carmen, the hostess or perhaps restaurant manager..i am not sure. Carmen's outstanding customer service, professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail was mind blowing. She quickly offered me a drink in the charming library lounge while she talked to me about the area and recommended me some of her favorite area attractions to visit. Everything she told me fit my taste perfectly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick getaway or a romantic escapade.
Honestly, the high level customer service blended with a charming and welcoming friendliness is hard to find.
Outstanding job Castle hill Staff and Carmen- hats off to her!
Thank you Carmen and Castle hill for being great ambassadors of this charming area in Vermont.

We grabbed a couptopia for this weekend stay. The Castle is nice with its old charm and interesting history. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. We enjoyed the outdoor salt water pool and hot tub. Ludlow is a cute little town with some good restaurants and places to grab a cocktail. We took a trek about 45 mins away to go hiking and check out a brewery so the location of the hotel is pretty good.
