“So Glad We Stopped”
Reviewed 3 November 2011

We stopped during the last few days of the season and it was very easy to take pictures & ride the elevator to the top - no crowds. The fee has gone up from $2.00 to $3.00, which is no big deal & I feel like it's more of a contribution. Not real sure why the elevator guy needs a tip jar - he only has to push a button & there's only one button. Nice guy though.
This is a very nice & respectful tribute to those who fought in the Battle of Bennington. The gift shop had some neat things in it. Would certainly recommend as a historical monument. Very nice that the windows actually opened at the top.

“incredible 360 degree views of Southeastern Vermont!”

Great find for foliage weekend - the views are really unforgettable. People in the gift shop were very nice as well. The tower has some interesting history behind it...

“Beautiful views from the top”
Reviewed 21 October 2011

If it's a clear day, spend the $3 and take the elevator to the top of the monument for magnificent (although narrow - as you look between support pillars) views of the surrounding area. We visited in October and it was much chillier up at the top than down below, so take a jacket with you in the cooler months.

“Interesting History and Views”
Reviewed 21 October 2011

The view from the top is excellent, especially during the fall color season.

The history associated with the monument is interesting.
It is a few minutes from the Old First Congregational Church.

“Well worth a trip just for the Views”
Reviewed 21 October 2011

For $3 you get tan accompanied ride in an elevator 256 feet to a viewing platform that gives 360degree views. It is totally safe even when the very narrow windows are open. This allows a first class opportunity to take photos or video so don't forget your camera or camcorder. On a clear day you can see for miles and in the fall the colours are spectacular. On the first floor near the entrance to the elevator is a simple but interesting account of the Battle of Bennington and the story behind the monument
