Came here last second while driving north through Utah. It was a really nice place to stop. It was early June and the temperature was pretty good, not yet too hot. It has a really unique entrance drive, where there is water all around you--looks neat in a photo. You can actually see Bison here, which was surprising to me but really neat for those who don't make it up to Yellowstone.

They actually have a reasonably priced concession area that was a nice place to stop after being by the water a bit. It wasn't your typical beach, not somewhere you'd want to swim. There were some skeletons of fish on shore, which made for neat photography and a very relaxing and unique stop. We did a little "hike" I guess up to a lookout point above the beach, and there were other paths to drive that we did not explore. Overall, this is a great place to check out if you're in the area. Bring your camera!

This is a great Sunday drive. We love to go out on our motorcycles. Go before May or the bugs get too thick. The ride across the causeway is fun then turn left to Fielding Garr ranch. There are a few pull outs along the way with great views but the best is at Fielding Garr ranch. Walk out through the ranch toward the water. The views are amazing. Especially when it is clear.

We spent our last full day of our ski vacation on Antelope Island to see the Great Salt Lake. It’s a short easy drive from SLC. We enjoyed the scenery, and the weather was perfect, mid- 60’s and partly sunny. We saw tons of buffalo, went to the end of the road and stopped at the ranch. We didn’t have any issues with the brine flies except for once when we stopped on the causeway to take a picture. We did see a few antelope, but they are more evasive. We had binoculars which were very helpful. Bring some water and pack a lunch if you’re planning to be there a few hours. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean and odor free. $10 entrance fee per car. We loved our day there exploring.

We enjoyed the drive to and view around Antelope Island. The park is beautiful and peaceful. Not only that the landscape is beautiful, but we also saw a lot of water birds, other birds and buffalos. Overall an experience to remember and highly recommend!

Antelope Island is about 45 minutes to just under an hour from downtown SLC. They charge $10 for a car. The drive from the causeway to the island gives a great view of the salt lake. There is a nice visitor’s center and a lot of bison on the island.
