Ryland was our guide and he is the best wrangler we have experienced. Ryland chose great horses, the ride was more than interesting and we felt safe. Ryland also made the experience most memorable so bring a camera. Ryland also knows photography and he is an artist.

A really amazing experience. We did a 3 hour horseback ride with their horses Blaze, Monte and our guide Ryland. Before you start out you get to brush down your horse and get their blankets sorted and if you are more in the know than us, you can help with the saddle and whatnot. We got a very brief (maybe too brief) instruction on how to ride and direct the horses. We have gone horseback riding twice before and, while we had no problems getting the horses to do what we needed I would have liked a bit more instruction. If you are a novice I would maybe look up a few instructional videos before you go, as you don't just sit on the horse, you do have to make it do things and be in control. We went all over near the monuments and our guide was great with taking our pictures and letting us stop to take pictures wherever we wanted. The ride ranged from flat ground to rolling mounds to climbing up to a pretty high ridge and there was a fair amount of galloping. For 3/4 of the trip we never saw other riders and we're out amongst the monuments on our own - it was a really special experience. I also liked that they let you bring water and sweatshirts - there were small bags on each horse to store water bottles. We rode in Bryce and you could not bring anything or stop to take off your sweatshirt. By the end of 3 hours I felt like we had rode enough and anything less would be too short. I'd do this this trip again in a second if I had the chance.

After a late decision to visit the states on holiday and with very little planning I happened upon the Sacred Monument Tours website. As a keen rider and someone who has always wanted to visit Monument Valley I emailed this company. Booking was straight forward and they responded very quickly. With little research it was a bit of a punt. However, the whole day, jeep safari and ride was awesome, beyond words. Our guide Lawrence / Darren, he's not big on names either was passionate and knowledgeable about the entire area and took us to a lot of places off the beaten track, allowing us the time and the space to appreciate the wonder of MV. It truly is a place you should go to at least once in a lifetime and I would absolutely recommend MV tours. They are not just a company they value and protect the valley, the Navajo culture and the horses.

We arrived at Monument Valley and wanted to go horseriding. There was a booth offering horserides at the main parking lot. We are novices so we went on a 1,5 hours ride which was $ 85,- per person.

We absolutely loved the experience. Since you ride through the valley away from the main valley drive and cars, it is so quiet and peaceful. Really wonderful experience.

We had a good guide telling about Navajo, the valley and their horses.

It was our dream to ride one more time on a horse in this wonderful valley ... under the guidance of a true Navajo guide. And that happened whit this company. It is easy to book on the internet and easy to find after you have signed up for the "boot" on the parking lot. The starting point is located a little further in the Valley. It was the young 'Shammie' who took us for a 2 hour trip. and soon, this young Native American has felt his feelings ... for us, whites, but also his private life .... He told about the loss of his mother and what that means for a Navajo. Ok, he did not tell so much about the Valley and his beautiful rocks, but you have to ask yourself. It was hot and the horses behaved exemplarily. And the guide did help if your horse did not want a windshield. The 2 hours were over before it was well understood. This is a very nice tour, along the most beautiful 'butes' in front of the park. The people of Sacred tours are also helpfull, if you can harder on and off the horse, they bring a step ladder. a real reminder to get the "Western" feel ... and respect for the Navajo peoples !!! and their culture. If you are in M.V... this tour is definitely recommended !!!!
