This is genuine BBQ. Ha s the mud pie for desert and loved it. This is as authentic as it gets in Salt Lake City. Service is good.

The food is good and they give you pretty decent serving sizes. We can during lunch and were the only people there for the first little while. Brisket and turkey were a little dry but the burnt ends were awesome. Overall the food was good and reasonably priced.

20 years ago we would come here and it was good, I thought we would try it again and was excited at getting some good brisket tonight. We ordered 4 large items and two salads. The Brisket was tough and dry and absolutely no smoke ring, I'm not sure they smoke any of their meats, none of them tasted like a good smoked BBQ, they all attsed like they came out of an oven. The sausage was horrible and tough, we just threw it away after we cut one of the slices in a few pieces and it was like chewing jerky.

The turkey was very dry and again, did not look or taste like it came out of a smoker at all and the dryness was from either an oven or reheated, unacceptable.

The burnt ends were the only thing anyone liked of the meats, but of course, it is the fatty parts and covered in sauce.

The only thing I would ever eat from Joes would be the wedge salads, they were done well and were fresh, but no meat, they have gone downhill from 20 years ago and I was told the same thing from friends but I had good experiences years ago so I had to learn for myself.

Blue Cheese Wedge was fresh lettuce with bacon and excellent. Smoked chopped was OK, but too saucy. Smoked turkey and chicken were good. Beans and slaw were good. Service was good.

The BBQ was very good, meal was hot and fresh. Thought the beans were the best part of the meal, and the onion chips are definitely worth a try. Service was excellent.
