Bought a Groupon for this resort for half off for a room. Paid $65.00… to assert I bought a $130.00 room for $65.00. This is pertinent because the room I was given was considered a "hotel room" Room 2014
Looking at the rates for this room and the season it states $108.00 weekend, $104.00 weekday for the “hotel room”...NOT half off, nor was it’s neither a studio room $118.00 nor a one bedroom style at 148.00 to158.00 a night.
Issues with the room:
First off the room smelled odd almost musty, when walking in the door
Was one of the smallest rooms I have ever seen in for the price or so called price
Bed was hard
Walls were very dusty
Nicks, chips and dents on the wall by the sliding glass
Cabinet/armoire was old scratched, hinges loose doors do not match up definitely shown its age
Nightstands were scuffed/chipped badly
Carpet smelled bad and was dingy
Curtains were dusty
Having a door to an adjoining room? Was tacky
Small old style TV with VCR of all things
TV remote had duct-tape holding in the battery
Could not dial out with the phone
No emergency evacuation plans posted
Coffee maker was broken; open it to put in a filter and it fell apart
And finally, while walking around outside we noticed the stone work on the building has been falling off and it has been repaired in many areas with what I can tell is epoxy caulking glue....not mortar....very tacky
No comment about the pool and Jacuzzis…We did not try them.
I can honestly say the bathroom was rather nice, clean, modern...if I could have dragged the mattress in there....
I have stayed in rooms from Vancouver to Scotland and this is the worst place I have ever lodged in.
Before receiving my room I asked the desk clerk about events since I am in charge of a large Scottish style gathering in October and we are looking for accommodations for the second weekend...after my stay I would not recommend this place, I would be too embarrassed to have people from all over North America stay here. This is not the best of Utah
Groupon was not worth it.
