Each Casita has spacious rooms with kitchens and large bathrooms. We especially enjoyed the rocking chairs on our own private patio. Housekeeping was terrific as everything was spotless and well equipped. We did their canoe and ATV tours. We especially enjoyed getting to know JD and the canoe tour staff. Had great store for all essentials. They have spotless grilling area and horse pits for recreation. We will come back. Met owners Valinda and Greg. Nice folks that went out of their way to exceed exceptions.

We all have had a wonderful time visiting BBNP.
Two couples booked two Casitas for three nights. And we loved it there.

We went on their half day canoe/river trip. Enjoyed the guides. Met a couple from Spain. And a couple from East Texas. La Netta at the front desk invited us to Terlingua Firemans Ball Saturday night. We decided to party with the locals and had a wonderful time. Everyone was so nice to us. Our husbands rented ATVs. JD was their guide and he was very knowledgeable and informative. They came back covered in dust with big grins on their faces.

The Casitas were perfect for us. We all drove down from Dallas in two cars. Since this was our first visit we really didn't know what to expect. So we were not traveling light. We had coolers, that we kept out on the porch. We had snacks and groceries. Plenty of bottled water. The Casitas were roomy enough for all of our stuff.
We never felt crowded.

Two mornings just as the sun came up I scrambled eggs for breakfast down at the grill area. They even have a cast iron skillet. Made toast in the Casita and served all four of us breakfast.

Far Flung is a well run operation. You can tell that the owners try to pay attention to detail. The place is cleaned meticulously everyday. Somebody is always cleaning something. The canoe trip and the ATV trip all started on time. There were safety instructions before each trip. They dot their i's and cross their t's.

This was all of ours first visit to the Big Bend area. Hopefully, it won't be the last. And when we return we will be staying at Far Flung Casitas.

My husband, son, and I traveled for our first time to the Big Bend area of Texas. I found the casitas and booked one for us to stay in. Were arrived after the office closed, but our key was available on the peg hook outside of the office. What can I say--the owners of the casitas had thought of every little detail we wanted/needed in our lodging for our vacation. The casita itself was beautiful and impeccably clean. There were extra towels, a large dorm sized refrigerator and a microwave. They even had a coffee make and coffee and left bags of popcorn on top of the microwave! We had stopped for a few supplies in Fort Stockton, TX (nearest walmart--and it is 2 hours away), and we used the gas grill available to grill dinner one evening. We were able to have dinner on the picnic tables with the company of a roadrunner. Another touch that proved to be invaluable was the filtered ice/water dispenses. We filled our refillable water bottles up every morning before leaving to go to BBNP and we had cool water and ice all day! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the casita. The location was convenient--2 miles to the park entrance (about 20 or so to the center of the park)--near the gas station, grocery store, and restaurants in Terlingua. The location was also beautiful...we enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pits in the evening--we even got to watch the lightning roll in as we had a desert thunderstorm while we were there!

Don't hesitate--make your reservation for a casita today--you won't be disappointed!

Just some more notes: They have a hairdryer in the casita along with the little hotel toiletries you need every day--therefore you can save a little room in your suitcase.

So impressed with the cleanliness of our casita and the attention to details--especially the night light in the bathroom. Thanks for a great 3-night stay! We also did a jeep tour with Rick. Loved it!! Highly recommend Far Flung Adventures.

When searching lodging, the Casitas showed up and knew I found the perfect spot for us! We booked our excursions prior to arriving so we knew we had some things planned out. We've never been to Big Bend. It was a long, but beautiful drive in. The town was a bit smaller than expected but we pretty much stayed in the casita area. loved having the kitchen area, very spacious and comfortable. A few nights we headed out to local restaurants and enjoyed all of them. And every night we enjoyed sitting out on the porch. Ed was our ATV guide and Reed and Nancy(aka Siri) were our guides for full day canoe. All staff were kind, helpful and knowledgable. And loved having the coffee shop and bbq on property!
