Just returned from a week's half board holiday in this hotel. It's a 3 star accommodation - it delivers a good 3 star service and more than deserves it 3 star rating! We went with realistic expectations and weren't disappointed. We always stay in 4 star hotels and it is fair to say that in some areas this hotel was obviously of a lower standard, but in some, higher e.g. the entertainment, location and food, were on a par with many of the 4 star hotels we've stayed in. As with another family who have commented on this site, we stayed in a room on the road side of 'the hotel. Very noisy I agree, but we didn't find it unbearable (any hotel with rooms on the main road has the same problem). Our room was huge, clean, well equipped, comfortable and we certainly didn't experience any ants. The pool area was busy. Too few sunbeds, although we always managed to get some, by joining the early morning campers! The entertainment was good - 2 games of bingo between 2 main acts each evenings. Something for everyone and a bit more than the usual parrot show, reptile show etc which is normally the only entertainment in the four star establishments. Soft drinks were expensive (2 euros for a coke) but the alcoholic drinks were realistically priced to compete with the local bars. Meals were more than adequate. A comprehensive choice at breakfast including freshly cooked omelettes and a good choice at dinner, including a weeky barbecue which was much better than others we have experienced. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Treat them with respect and they will respond! The Head Waiter, Tomas, is a lovely, helpful man who looked after us well.
The location cannot, in my opinion, be beaten. 5 mins stroll to the beach (extortionate rates for sunbeds here though - 9 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella!), some of the best shops in the resort on your doorstep and a 10 min stroll to the left to Los Cristianos and to the right to the lively Veronicas strip. Turn left out of hotel, then right towards the Mercadona supermarket and you will find some of the nicest Spanish resturants serving fab tapas (not cheap, but very, very good!!). 30 euros bought a feast for 2 with fine wine.
The down sides to the hotel to sum up are the sunbed situation in main season and the lack of aircon (I couldn't visit here in August!). The plus points far outweigh the negatives though and like many, many others we met whilst staying there, the majority of whom were regular customers, we will return!!! PS. There is a rumour that the hotel is attempting to gain All Inclusive status, in which case we might not!
