Just returned from a 7 night stay with my boyfriend and another couple. We had a one bedroom apartment which was big enough for all four of us in my opinion, and although we were unhappy that the 'sofa beds' didn't pull out, they were still comfortable. Location was brilliant! Within easy reach of all the shops, bars and the beach, really couldn't fault that. Receptionists were polite and helpful but couldn't help notice that the place was under construction - re-plastering and painting constantly - bit annoying and noisy!

The worst part of this holiday was that cockroaches were in the cupboards and were constantly running around all over the floor; there must have been over ten in there over our stay! Although we understood that it is a hot country and there are bound to be cockroaches, the fact that they were literally living, undisturbed all over the apartment showed us that the cleaners are not thorough, as when we showed the staff they had had no idea about them living in there. Another awful point was the towels. They were not changed once! Even when we arrived, the towels had an odd smell to them and were not fresh at all. Most days we would put our towels in the bathtub to be washed, but found the same towels back on our beds, folded up - what is the point! We knew this also because we spilt milk and used two towels to clean it up - we had nothing else - we left them outside on the patio to dry over night, next night we came back to find the 'cleaner' had come, and found the foul smelling towels from outside, folded up on our beds! Why they would bring towels from outside into the apartment is beyond me. Also, one day a cleaner came into the room when we were in there and there were no towels on her trolley and we checked after she'd gone and she had actually moved all our towels we were using and had switched them - so we basically all unknowingly shared dirty towels. To me this is basic hygiene and they actually lied by saying they would change them if we left them in the bathtub - very untrustworthy.

Despite those points, everything else was fine, but we did feel a little disgusted by the uncleanliness. The pool was nice and cool, very good for this time of year. Food and drink at the poolside was lovely, inexpensive and staff very polite. We did not see any of the hotel entertainment as we went on a couple of the 'escapade' nights out. For young people these nights are very good and not expensive but even though we are all 18 and like partying, as we were on a couples holiday it was a bit too mental for us! As we were self catering, we chose to go out or food - lots and lots of lovely restaurants to choose from in the area and lots of bars.

Overall, the location and holiday rep made our holiday what it was. The apartment itself was just too unclean and uncomfortable to be in. I would not go back to this hotel again, but would defiantly go back to the area!

After asking for a quiet room, we arrived at lunchtime and thought it was nice and quiet. Went out that evening and by the time we arrived back again it was quiet apart from the odd drunk. After 3 days we decided to have a night at the hotel followed by an early night( midnight ). Not a chance situated under the snack room is a row of about 8 bars all of which blast out loud music until 2am . This coupled by several groups in their early 20's which arrived midweek and did nothing but make a lot of noise such as slamming doors and shouting to each other, security were called by quite a few people several times each night. We liked to spend alternate days beach then pool but after a couple of days we started going just to the beach. At 8.30 each morning a queue started forming at each entrance to the pool, by the time the gates were opened at 9am there were about 70 people waiting. The staff that drew the short straw had to open the gates then stand back as both grown men and women sprinted to the beds and some threw towels from several metres away to get a good spot, it looked similar to the bull run in Pamplona . We opted for bed 20 m away from pool as the majority of those near the pool could at best be described as foul mouthed morons, also lots of beds had towels placed on them but weren't occupied until as late as 3pm. We asked to move rooms which they did to the other side of the hotel but this was no better due to the selfish acts of other guests talking and playing loud music until after 3am . The hotel is at the moment going through a few refurbishments but to be woken by a pneumatic drill at 7.30 three mornings in a row was a bit much. There is only one main pool in which groups were allowed to drink in ,and ball games although not allowed are tolerated by most of the lifeguards . One positive note are the staff are very friendly and helpful

Room Tip: If you want a quite room make sure you're near reception, and don't stand for any crap from...

Just returned from a 7 night stay 12 girls staying for friends 40th birthday (Paula Green lol) ...rooms were fine clean and quite modern ..food was fine plenty of choice and always hot restuarant manager thomas was fantastic really looked after us reserving our table every evening and always checking if we were ok so thank you thomas hope you got the envelope we left for you at reception!..maria was lovely sorted out a birthday cake for us so thank you for that.
Ritchie who does the evening and day entertainment works really hard usually bingo (ya win a free cocktail) and a quizz then a act comes on various ones but all seemed to be ok.
Went to the quite bars down the street every night coconut joes was great brill music and had some fab nights there. defo go to siam waterpark for the day you can buy the tickets at reception and get the free bus there and back we had a great day out.
The hotel is right at the edge of las americas and start of los cristianos so in a quiet area 5 mins to the beach be careful though because the near side near the water sports is rocky under the water better to stick to the middle where it was just sandy.
The pool gates are shut at night and are opened at 9,oclock and yes as other reviews said people queue at half eight and when gates open its funny watching them all running and panicking to put their towels down on the beds very sad really!!!....
Some lovely shopping malls on walk to beach with some bargains in the shops well worth a look.
Had a great week and would return with the husband and little one think the pool would be quite busy in the school holidays though.
Thanks to all the staff for being so friendly and helpful and putting up with us all lol x

We booked the Parque de las Paz because we read online that it's a 3 star hotel within minutes of the beach and Veronica's strip. How this establishment ever, ever managed to claim 3 stars is an absolute joke and astonishment to me.

There were seven of us, all from 22-26, and not one of us have a good thing to say about the place. The rooms had no iron, no washing machine, or even a basic mop or sweeping brush to clean the rooms up after ourselves. The food you could order near the pool was lackluster and don't even get me started on the computers in the parlour, you pay a euro for ten minutes online, and two of three times I done so I was waiting 4 minutes for the internet signal to reboot and work for me (provided I could even get a computer, as they were constantly being used by kids checking their facebooks).

From the moment we arrived the rooms were sweltering hot with absolutely no air conditioning, as a result we'd have to keep our balcony doors open constantly, which would result in security constantly coming up to the room and giving out to us if we even had the iPod on a low volume in another room, or had a chat or a drink on the balcony at night. When we tried to speak to the Reception about it, the staff (Juan Luis Bello was his name, the staff who works the night shift) cursed at me, stormed off on me as I was speaking to him, and was incredibly hostile and unprofessional considering I was only asking for an alternative to cool the room down that night without disturbing other guests. I had asked the manager the next day would it be possible to have another fan brought up to the room or even to have our own fan speeded up, and nothing resulted of it.

From the moment we arrived we felt like we were unwelcome due to the ages of our party despite two of us working in the Hospitality business as Receptionist's in Hotels back home in Dublin. The whole trip was completely ruined for us due to the hostile and aggressive attitude of this particular staff member, and regardless if some of the girls in our room were a bit high-pitched there was absolutely no excuse that can justify his lack of professionalism. In Ireland, you'd be fired for it, and I see no reason why any paying customer should be treated the way we were. Having a family or minors with you should be no indication as to how the staff should treat you, and we felt very uncomfortable here.

In summary, the staff were horrible, and the rooms were sweltering hot with no ventilation (bar a very slow moving fan in one room) and very few self-catering services. I'd never recommend it to anyone again, I'd rather sleep on the beach on Veronica's Strip than bother going back to Parque de la Paz.
