We booked an all-inclusive stay which featured food that's more focused on quantity rather than quality. Never did I experience in the 1 week I stayed there some shrimps/gambas or mussels. But they did have a lot of cheaper stuff and you'd never go hungry. Don't think that the all you can drink offer is that great - you get the medicine-tasting, headache-causing local stuff. Seriously! There was even a time they ran out of a variety of other drinks and only had tequila sunrise from a dispenser.

You can only use the really small gym from 10AM to 5PM - just about the same time you are supposed to be outside, exploring Gran Canaria! And the pool- don't get me started on that. Not heated and only up to 8PM. Hello? How about heating it up and letting your guests use it at least until 10PM. It's like - either you have dinner or you swim. Geez!

Oh and it stank like rotten eggs at the reception area. Seemed that there was a broken toilet pipe or something. Last word - never again!

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience and hence give us the opportunity to rectify the areas that you found lacking.

We are sorry to read that we weren’t able to satisfy your palate, since we work very hard every day to spoil our guests. We offer shrimps, mussels, and other fresh fish and seafood from the grill 3 times/week.

The Gym at Sahara Playa is free of charge and equipped with 2 treadmills, 2 bicycles, a multi function trainer, an elliptical, and a large mirror covering the whole wall. This friendly gesture is meant to give our guests the opportunity to keep up their work out routine. Our front desk would have loved to open the gym for you outside the operating hours.

Our pool is in accordance with Spanish law heated to 21 degrees during opening hours.

As for a foul smell in our reception area, it definitely didn't come from within our premises, as there were no incidents reported.

Once again thank you for your feedback which helps us to enhance the guest experience and we hope that you will give us another chance to exceed your expectations.

Tried the breakfast and dinner buffet's in this hotel. The breakfast has a nice range of cold food, e.g. sliced meats, cheeses, salad etc. Hot food is a bit more limited. It is nice that you can see the eggs, pancakes and bacon being freshly cooked in front of you but the scramble egg is to be avoided at all costs. The dinner has a good selection of fresh veg and salad. on the occasion that we ate there they had only one hot meat dish available (pork chops) and one hot fish dish (tuna). While these were both cooked okay I would have liked a little more choice. there is also a Chinese food bar available but, again, the selection was very limited. Some entertainment was provided which was good fun.

Stayed at the Las Gondolas Apartments with the half board option so breakfast and dinner were taken at the Sahara Playa.

Very organised, mostly friendly staff and a fantastic variety of food catering for all tastes. The hotel's clientele appear to be mostly German so the food is tailored accordingly but there's plenty for us Brits to enjoy.

This hotel is really great, so close to the beach and to Kasbah too, where you can find so much bars and disco.
The food is nice, and the staff also.
The rooms are a little old, but everything is clean and you have so big space inside.
I recommend this hotel!! I was here 2 times, and never disappointed!

Room tip: A little higher floor
