Hi All,

Just returned (21st Aug) from the IFA Buenaventura. We travelled as a family and with friends (2 x M, 2 x F and 1 x F (13).

Firstly, I am not a snob but we usually travel to Long Hual destinations at a 5* or 5*+, so we were a little apprehensive of this holiday.

I must say however, this was one of the best Holidays that we have had ... and I will say yes! there are some downsides but all in all this was a great hotel.

Food:
I found the food good.. there was plenty of it and it ranged from Buffet to carvery. We did eat out a couple of nights but that was just to get out of the resort.

Drink:
Expected this to be a bit of a 'bun fight' but it was not. There is a ruling about only 2 drinks per arm band holder... I was really anoyed about it... but then I saw what some were doing... They had come on the holiday and only half had paid AI and was getting all their food and drink fromn the others. This ruling did seem to partially stop this.

Entertainment:

There is about 2 nights a week where the entertainment is proffessional. On other nights you have to suffer the animation team... but hey.... they were trying.

Pool:

Quiet Pool - where most of the families go and the more party pool where the adults seem to play. Again there are some rules that need to be observed here... in the quiet pool you are not allowed to play with balls or air beds, lilo's or rubber rings... even though they sold these in the hotel shop... but did not warn you about the use. In the Party pool you could throw a ball about but no air beds, lilo's or rubber rings.

Noise:

Yup..... its a lively Hotel... you WILL get early morning returning revelers!

Rooms:

Clean and well serviced

Location:

The IFA Buenaventura is 15Min from beach and 10 Mins from Jumbo Centre. Both great places to have some fun.

Conclusion.... Yes some small issues... but for what we paid... Excellent!
Well done IFA

I stayed here with my husband and children aged 8 and 4 all inclusive from the 30th of July until the 13th of August, we had a great time. We arrived at the hotel after midnight and at check in were given a picnic each, this was a really nice gesture. We had a room overlooking the childrens pool and were not disturbed by noise at all. The room was clean and a good size even with 4 beds, we had plenty of space in the drawers and lots of hangers, there was also a hairdryer in the bathroom. The room was cleaned daily and everywhere in the hotel was kept clean, the cleaners seemed to be working all the time.
Before we left alot of the reviews seemed to be from groups so was a little worried about whether this hotel would suit families, shouldnt have worried as this hotel was great for children as well. The children loved the miniclub and the mini disco was the best one we have been to. The animation team were brilliant, they all knew the children and would stop and talk to them every time we saw them, they were all really friendly and good fun when joining in the activities. The chidrens paddling pool, play area and mini club are in their own little part of the hotel, it was nice to get a sunbed in this area and sometimes we had the whole area to ourselves. All the pool areas were lovely so we would get a sunbed in different areas each day, always got a sunbed and we didnt go down until about 9.
The food was fantastic, really can't understand how anybody could complain. We have stayed at other all inclusive hotels and there was much more variety here than at other hotels. There were plenty of meats to choose from, had a lovely lamb stew one day. There was always 2 or 3 meat dishes, fish, pasta, potato, rice, lovely salads and chips and pizza if thats what the children fancied. There were lovely desserts as well.
The sand dunes in Maspalomas are worth a visit we paid about 5 or 6 euros in the taxi. Also got a bus to Peurto Mogan which was a nice little place. Can get a bus to the airport , was only 10 euros between the 4 of us. At reception they can give you a map and will show you where to get different buses from.
To sum it up, we loved it and would definately go back!

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking childrens pool are quieter, also a small number of rooms are smoking rooms so...

having just returned from the hotel on 16th August after a 10 night stay, I have to say my initial reaction when we arrived was it was full of German/Dutch and they are very arrogant to say the least, but after a couple of days we noticed more English/Welsh and even more Scottish folk like ourselves! we had a good holiday kids loved the pool ages 3 and 6 you did have to get up at 7.30 to ensure you had a sunbed but this was not a big deal for us as we were situated 2 mins from the pool! the AI buffet was good had a lot of variety and kids always had pizza, chips spag bol etc, breakfast was ok sasuages were more hotdogs but cant complain much when we paid only £1400 for 4 of us there was always something we could eat! snack bar could have been opened longer with more choice opens 11.30 till 12.30 where you would get toasties one day burgers next then opened at 3.30 till 5.30 with your pastries and cakes then 10 till 11pm where you had pizza or cheese and ham sandwiches every night. entertainment for kids could have been better kids disco was 8.30 till 9 then there was a show on every night that I must say were entertaining. all in all we had a good holiday and would return in future very clean mains always cleaning rooms cleaned daily! public areas and pool areas very clean also! only let down is that had no air con! which would have been good but to be honest we survived we just left balcony doors open at night and we were fine! we were in room 234 so had good view of pool there is a night club under hotel but was not to bad had the odd drunken loud mouth a couple of nights but what do you expect when people are on holiday having fun?? worth a visit especially if you are on a budget!!

We stayed at this hotel from 26th July to 09th August. We were a party of 8, the oldies (43), an 11 year old, 2 14 years, 1 17year old and 2 22 year olds! I can honestly say it is one of the best holidays I have ever had. The food was amazing (gained 12 pounds!), the rooms were fantastic and the pool area was absolute bliss. We were a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews on here but they must have been on some sort of medication as we couldnt fault anything. The animation girls were fab and so were the rest of the staff. We wouldnt hesitate to book again.

We loved this place, it was only a short walk from the nightlife but was very quiet in the evenings. It was about a 15 minute walk to the beach. We decided to use the sofa bed as a double rather than using the single beds but it wasn't the most comfortable. Other than that we dont have any complaints about the hotel at all.

We didnt use the pool area but it all looked very nice and private.
