Very nice little restaurant at the end of Morro Jable. Food was really good. My husband had a huge an tasty steak he couldnt finish, so big it was and i had the lemon sole with prawns. We had some goats cheese as a starter, very tasty.Staff was very friendly, my dessert was a little bit overcooked, home made creme caramel...i felt bad for the chef, rest of the food was brilliant. Really good value for money

We go to Fuerteventura every year and tend to go to this restaurant every time we visit. However, we were left very disappointed by our most recent meal here. All of us ordered the fresh fish, yet when it arrived and we tasted it, it did not seem fresh and as if it had been defrosted. This is a real shame as we usually love this restaurant, however, after this experience, we will not be returning.

Having visited this restaurant twice before in previous years, we were again looking forward to a great evening.

La Laja is primarily a fish restaurant, with a wonderful position right on the seafront in Morro Jable.

It was easy to get a table inside by a window looking out over the sea (beautiful view), with no need to book, even at 8pm.

There was a limited selection of certain drinks on the menu (only 4 Rose’s - at least 2 of which were only available by the bottle). The drinks weren’t that cheap either, but both of us enjoyed our selections.

The staff were attentive, but un-friendly.
The waiter looked shocked / offended when I asked for no salad with my main course - err, customer service tip of the day, it’s a personal choice so please don’t openly judge me..! :/

All of the food was lovely (Tomato Soup & Deep-Fried Goats Cheese to start, then Tuna Steak with Canarian Potatoes / Salad & Swordfish Steak with Canarian Potatoes for main).

A word of warning though - some of the portions are ridiculously HUGE..!
I’m a big eater, but my wife’s starter and main would have easily fed both of us...! (see photos).

Overall, although both the food and drink were very good, it wasn’t the experience we’ve enjoyed previously, so probably won’t return, which is a real shame.

This restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but it was absolutely beautiful. By far the best meal we ate during our stay in Fuerteventura. We sat at a table right by the sea which was stunning. The food was excellent value - we had a starter each and bread, a main each and a bottle of wine, all for 64 Euros!! As a lover of seafood, I had prawns which were amazing!! We would definitely recommend for an authentic meal, with a beautiful view and great service. We were on our honeymoon & when we told the Waiter, he kindly brought us a Limoncello on the house - nice touch! We will be returning!!
