CapRock Winery has a few good varietals of wine. The oaked versions are much more palatable than the ones fermented in stainless steel. There’s something about white grapes grown in high PH soils then fermented in steel that makes it taste like I’m licking my kitchen sink.
They’re a little pricey for Texas wine, but a good diversion while in Lubbock. The master sommelier on site was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines his staff was selling.
I bought a bottle of Zinfandel to share with my favorite person.
