Posado's is still our local fave. When we run out of ideas for an evening meal, we come here. Well, it's half a mile from home so what. The service is always 1st rate and the appetizers (what we get) are a good option. One caveat, the tortilla chip can have enough grease to lube a Buick.

When you order the fajitas, you get this amazing little cup of melted, seasoned butter - do NOT SKIP this part! It is what makes their fajitas so delicious!!

Try to get one of the round booths near the back - so cozy! The chips and salsa are warm and yummy, and we always order queso to go with them. At the end of the meal you can order amazing sopapillas, or pour yourself a cone/cup of free ice cream on your way out. It is pretty basic but a perfect foil to spicy mexican food! I like the sopapillas, though, because they are warm, cinnamon-sugary goodness, and you can pour honey right on top of them if you want (I don't like that, but my kids do!) At night the bar area picks up just a bit with locals, but don't worry, it is always a "family-safe" place to go - we have never felt like the beer drinking/margarita sipping patrons made it feel less than a great restaurant!

Sunday lunch at Posados in Longview. Had not been in a year. This franchise spin off restaurant from Mercado Mexico in the original location of Tyler , Texas has fallen on very hard times.
The hour was early and the staff was very pleasant and helpful but the food was just so bad I could not eat it and will never try again. The cheese enchilida was still in its block form, no melt at all, and the tortilla was cold and touch. The sour cream sauce was literally just that...... and tasteless. Every good Tex Mex depends on their bean recipe and this one missed the mark. The Chicken enchilida was in chopped chicken breast form and acceptable but I do prefer shredded and chili sauce so was disappointed there too. This place has the atmosphere that is important to young people who gather and enjoy the drinks along with the chips and salsa and the salsa was pretty good. Not as good as the original recipe but tasty enough. They have a lot of franchises all over and they have dumbed the quality and taste of the products down to meet their customers' tastes I suppose. Back to the hunt for us or back to Dallas when seeking good Tex Mex food. El Fenix comes to mind.

Good average Tex Mex. Never had any problems with food, service, or employees. Pretty large portions. Great Margaritas.

Always great tex-mex! I usually eat at the Bossier City location when travelling but we decided to stop here while visiting relatives. The flour tortillas and chips are made on site so a much added plus dining here. I'm not sure how anyone can leave here hungry. Not only are the plates served with generous portions of food but there are plenty of toritillas (great with the honey "syrup"), chips, sopapillas and ice cream available for no extra charge. My favorite is the puffy tacos and enchiladas with sour cream sauce. The host and our server were both excellent!
