We were in Katy visiting our good friends Thea and Craig who took us to Da Vinci's for dinner on a Saturday night. First impression... place is small and in a shopping center I believe. There is no bar. We actually had a glass of wine handed to us, in what I could only describe as a hallway. There were several people waiting in such a small space, so we stepped outside into the parking lot and enjoyed our glass of cabernet. After a short wait, we were finally seated. What happened next was ridiculous! We never saw a menu as our server read and explained specials written on a chalkboard, ALL sounding so amazing, looking at their menu was unnecessary. There was four in our party and we each ordered something different from the chalkboard. I don't even know where to begin next! The presentation was AMAZING, the food was AMAZING, the service was AMAZING.The dessert came with sparklers! Outstanding! Full disclosure, I have fine dined in restaurants in different states AND countries. I would place my dining experience at Da Vinci's as one of the top 10. Kisses, Kudos and Hugs to the Chef! Five stars is not enough! I will be heading back to Houston in May and most definitely will return. Can't wait!

Wow-this place is a hidden gem! I found it quite by accident. Tonight was our second visit. We had raved about it to our family and were a little concerned that perhaps it wouldn't live up to our hype, but there were no worries. It was even better than the first time. The food was fabulous--every special order came out just right; the presentation is amazing and the service couldn't have been better. Special shout out to Eduardo, our amazing waiter for making the evening so special. We were celebrating my daughter-in-law's birthday and she loved it. What could be better?! We will definitely be back.

What a beautiful evening! Food was unique, individual unique presentations. 8 different choices, each one unique. Pear salad-full of fruit, fresh taste. Hallibut - thick white flaky fish with fruit veg topping. Oso boco - rich, tender full of flavor. Pappardella with crab so light. Bisque was rich, full of flavor but light. Desert presented with sparklers, Sugar creations -stunning and delicious. Just fantastic! We will be back! Can’t thank you enough for making the evening special for us family and friends.

Upon our arrival everything started out with 5 Stars. The waiter and staff were attentive. Thank goodness our server was well versed with the items on the menu and chalkboard. (The menu was difficult to read in the dim light. You need the light on your phone or the table candle to see it, and god help you if you do not have 20/20 vision because the writing on the menu is small) The appetizers (Pear Salad and Roasted Prosciutto) were FABULOUS. By the start of the meal we felt it was going to be a great night, however, once the entrees arrived, everything went downhill.
The Filet Gnocchi was terrible, the Gnocchi was under-cooked and the Filet Mignon cubes were tough and overcooked. The Linguini al Vongole would have been better had there been fresh clams. The pasta was perfect but some of the clams were not fresh and did not open once cooked. Unlike when our appetizers were served, our server never checked on us once the entrees arrived. When we were done with our meal it took about 15 minutes for us to grab an assistant to ask for the check. Our server finally presented it to us. I politely explained to him the shortcomings we experienced, and he was very apologetic and said had we told him earlier he could have removed it from the bill. (Hence, had he checked on us, he would have known) He offered to redo it and we could take it home, but if it wasn't done right the first time, why would we want it again? Nevertheless, the staff was very polite and welcoming, perhaps if they had more waiters, the service could be better. Had the entrees and the service given to us after the entrees were served been better, I would have given it 5 stars. For such a quaint and cozy restaurant, I was hoping the food and service would be on par to Rao's in NYC, but it fell way short.

This is a very small, cozy, intimate, “hole in the wall” corner restaurant that has been in the area for many years. Cuisine is mostly Italian but an incredible filet mignon is available as well. Standard menu prices are averaging about 15-20 per plate. Atmosphere is very romantic and speaks of Italy all over the place. Chalk board specials which are awesome incredible delights start at around 21-40 per plate. Lots of fish dishes, lobster, scallops, shrimp, halibut, redfish, snapper, tuna, sea bass, veal, beef, salmon, chicken, LOTS of pastas, salads, antipasto, incredible desserts as well. See photos.
