We love visiting old Buildings that have been restored back to their glory days. This I a very fine Example of a Historic Survivor Building that is now a good Place to relax and enjoy a cocktail. We had already had lunch so we only had drinks. Nice out front Patio Area and very nice inside with friendly prompt service.

Thank you Trip Advisor for helping us find this "little jewel". We were so impressed with the food and the service we ate there three times over a three day weekend! We started the evening with the Seared Ahi-Tuna which left us wanting more, it was so delicious. Our main courses consisted of the Pasta Acadiana which was to die for and the ribeye, which was very flavorful. To top the evening off, we ordered the carrot cake topped with praline sauce, one of the best things we ever put in our mouths!! It was homemade by the owner, Brent's mom. The next day we went back and shared an order of Akaushi Beef Sliders which took sliders to a whole new level. The beef was topped with craft beer sautéed onions and homemade bacon bourbon jam. What more can we say! Our hats off to the creative Chef, Lance. And last, but certainly not least, our bartender /waitress, Haley who was so knowledgeable and personable. She made us feel right at home as well as Randi, our hostess. We will definitely return on our next visit to Jefferson.

This is a serious restaurant, especially for so small a town. It was just warm enough to sit outside. We had appetizers of ahi tuna and crab cakes. The crab cakes were some of the best--almost all crab and little filler. We then split an order of grille red snapper. The snapper was perfect, not overcooked as so often happens. We had plenty and the was no problem sharing a plate. My only complaint would be that the white wine by the bottle was a little pricey and limited in sauvignon blancs.

We stopped by just as they opened which is at 4 pm so we were the only guest sitting at the bar. Our bartender was Haley who also goes by Macy or Heather, ask her the story! She told us the history of the place and how the entrees were always fresh and never frozen. We then left to continue our walk around town and after exploring the Historical district we returned for and excellent dinner.

We had heard some good reviews about this place, but Mardi Gras was perhaps not the best opportunity to try it. We went in about 5 pm on Saturday, and saw the friend who had recommended it just finishing his dinner. The three of us stood around their table and chatted for a while, then we thought it best to grab a small empty table by the wall. (There were several empty tables.) Our friend's party left, and advised us to move to their larger table, which we did. We sat and watched the three employees behind the bar come and go. None of them ever made eye contact or acknowledged our presence. After about 10 minutes of being ignored, we walked out, still with no word from the staff. Obviously they had enough business, and did not need ours. We checked the patio area as we left - not full, but several tables of folks with buckets of crawfish.
I don't like to give a bad review. And I know Mardi Gras is not a good time to judge a place. As a local, I will try to come back at less crazy time, but if we get this kind of treatment again, Adios.
We walked down to the Bistro and, as expected, got both an excellent meal and attentive service. It can be done at Mardi Gras!
