My family and I came to stay the weekend for a grandparent's 90th birthday. We reserved several rooms for various family members ranging in age from 3-65. The great-grandchildren went swimming each day in the indoor pool, which was clean and well kept; they could also be bribed into silence with candy bars for sale in the little shop next to the front desk (drinks, ice cream, frozen dinners, OTC medications, laundry detergent, etc.). Breakfast each morning was pleasant, there was plenty of variety and a magnificent pancake machine that made two perfectly cooked pancakes at the push of a button. The hotel was well situated, there were plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. But the star of the show was the night manager, Katt Drury. She made us feel completely at home by coming to check on our group when she came in each night. The adults would gather in the breakfast area and stay up late drinking wine and talking, Katt would come by often and make sure we were comfortable. She found two wine glasses somewhere, even though the hotel had no reason to have wine glasses and even got a blanket when she heard one of our party say she was chilly. All of this she did without being asked, kudos to Katt! The next time I visit Huntsville and need a hotel, this is where I will be staying, thank you!
