Lucille serves excellent southern style cooking with modern versions of classics such as grilled green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, cornbread and even a lovely bone marrow and oxtail! They also have an extensive cocktailmenu. The restaurant is located in a slightly off the beaten track former residential house, with outdoor seating and a vegetable garden growing the collard greens. It was named after famous soul food cook Lucille Bishop Smith. Very pleasant service. Would recommend to benefit from the happy hour 3-6pm, otherwise drinks are a bit expensive.

Very nice restaurant, a little off the beaten path. In the museum district, but on a side street. One needs to know where it is, but it is definitely worth finding. Menu is not extensive, but our entrees were excellent. Service was very good. Staff very friendly. Prices moderate. Highly recommended.

Southern cooking and Southern hospitality. This place takes it roots in Southern cooking, updates it and puts a new twist on it, without straying far. The execution is perfect. The service is excellent. The wine list is very interesting with a large number of new offerings. The two we tasted were great.

Every dish was perfectly cooked and delicious. The space was warm and inviting without too much pretension. It was a perfect Helen of class and casual. I got the fish fry (red snapper) which was amazing. Also had the ribeye which was delicious as well. We had the fried green tomatoes, scallops, and squash. All were ok honestly perfect and the aioli sauce on the fried green tomatoes was a perfect combination.

Highly recommend this little gem for a more local dining experience.

We had a long and pleasant lunch at Lucille's in Houston's Museum District. Chili bischits were very tasty. Fried oysters were excellent. Also, the chicken. We would happily return.
