Description: Inspired by American hotel lobbies and European cafes of the 1920s, Prohibition Supperclub & Bar is situated in the historic ISIS Theatre by the Theatre District in downtown Houston. We specialize in nostalgic and decadent cuisine with new takes on American classics, seafood and downtown's only raw bar of fresh oysters and crudo. Combined with an extensive bar program of classic cocktails, large selection of single malts, whiskeys, bottled craft beer, and boutique wines, we offer a unique destination for dinner or special events. Reserve your table then stay late for a great bar scene! Originally built in 1912, this space holds significance to Houston's history as Houston's first theatre. Paying tribute to this, Prohibition will continue to use this space as its very own theatre room & special events space. Many of the original artifacts and wall plasters dating back to 1912 have been retained, which provides for a unique space and will be Prohibition's main banquet hall, perfect for hosting live performances, weddings, theatre events, as well as corporate events...Limitless celebrations in a multifunctional space.

Went to the Texas Bowl and stayed at the Magnolia Hotel because we wanted to try The Prohibition Supperclub & Bar. We went to the Oyster Bar portion. You walk in and you feel like you stepped back in time, a super cool era. The atmosphere is totally historical and had a great time. Cool drinks, the food was amazing. You Have to try the grilled oysters......we ordered another dozen. My only complaint was the menu on line differed from the menu there at the restaurant. Waiter was kind of apologetic, saying , yea the menu changes. Well okay. We will still come again.

My wife and i came here for a dinner date. The menu was somewhat limited but we enjoyed our plates. My wife had the ribeye i had the fish papillote. Both dishes were delicious. What we enjoyed more were the oysters. If you like oysters you’ll love this place. Great music blaring in the background, having cocktails with your loved one or friends, great place to chill.

Have to say we had an amazing time at the Jazz Age NYE show. The performers and hosts were fantastic. The audience was responsive and in good spirits (hard not to be!). We stopped in the bar to get a few drinks and the bartenders know their trade (will make any drink, even those that are not on the menu). The food was just ok. The cacio e pepe tasted exactly like chicken alfredo (which was good, but definitely not what we ordered). The red snapper was decent, and the dessert was ok (overall a 3.5 star). I plan on coming back another night to try a different menu, but the show alone made this night a 5 star night. One more thing to note, please come in formal attire and preferably 1920s style! Loved it!

Meet with Robert at the Noble Rot Wine Bar next door and that was fun and intertaining. Wine connoisseur and very interesting gentleman. Good selection at a very reasonable price and you can get something to eat in the restaurants at the Conservatory in the baseman where it is located.

Ended up spending a couple of night and finally went to the Burlesque show and that was great.

Will go again and before I forget, Robert thanks for making my trip to Houston a memorable one. Don't forget you and Heather are more than welcome to come visit Montreal, I'll show you our beautiful town.
With love.
