Friendliest and most helpful staff on the island! Clean, spacious units with very large balcony--all with views of the gulf! Nice amenities--pool, exercise room, free laundry facilities, more...and elevators at either end of the facilities. Comfortable stay, like a home away from home! Only negative--we had to leave...

The condo was located just across the street from the beach, so would have been great if it had been warm enough to walk on the beach. Unfortunately, our timing was bad for that! The condo was old and had not been updated. That, also, would not have been a problem if it had been clean. It needed a thorough cleaning. One burner on the stove and the oven didn't work. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well even with the traffic in front of the building. Privacy was almost nonexistent as the walls were very thin. With some work this could be a great place to stay.

Booked newly renovated room. Paint alone does not count as totally renovated. Condo was filthy, sliding glass door to balcony cracked with scum between panes of glass. Bedroom screen bent, ceiling fans had black junk all over them. Washer/Dryer filthy. linoleum in bathroom buckled and not glued down. Needs to be deep cleaned and maintained. Too bad because the location is great.

This is a nice old school resort by the sea. Though some of the amenities are dated, it was well maintained clean. Several of the past reviews are clearly from persons that haven't sent that much time in the beach environment.
The condos were nice with full appliances, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine etc... Each unit has a full view of the ocean from the baclony. The pool is nice and the hot tub is a little older but works great. It is not even 5 minutes from the grovery stores along Seawall Blvd, so it is easy to shop and cook in the unit.
We had a couple small maintainace issues, and those were handled within an hour.
It is a nice comfortable place and we'll certainly book again.

Room Tip: Upper floors have unobstructed ocean views

Inverness by the Sea Resort Galveston Texas
Calling this a resort is like comparing a latrine to a beauty spa. The only nice thing about this place is the location. From the moment we entered the problems were obvious and we knew this was a poorly maintained facility. As you walk in you set your eyes on the beautiful ocean view then, if you’re not overwhelmed by the bow on the gift, you look around and reality sets in. First we noticed the stain infested carpet, which looks like it’s out of the 80’s, oh yeah that’s when this place was built so it probably is.

First as we walked through we notice the scent of cigarette smoke. Next we stepped outside onto the balcony to enjoy the view and upon reentering the door lock did not work and we were not able to secure the patio. As we looked around we noticed the ceiling had bubbling and peeling plaster, all the door frames are uneven with gaps, the door trim paint was peeling in another location, the spare bedroom closet door was broken, the floors that did not have FILTHY Carpeting had vinyl tile which was either curling or ready to come off the floor. The furniture is worn out and has to be from when this place was built (80’s.) In the bathroom they used duct tape under the wall lamps (which is peeling off) and painted over it. All the fixtures are yellowing and again from the 80’s. In the kitchen the fluorescent light would not turn on and the filthy stove arched when turned on and an outlet was falling out of the wall, there was dirt (old food) on the wall behind the garbage can, the ceiling fan had dust and dirt, the list goes on and on. On the second day maintenance personnel showed up to spray insecticide in the unit, why would you do that when it is occupied? When we left another guest had their car broken into. No security or security measure like cameras.

When my disgust in this poorly maintained unit was brought to the attention of the front desk they claimed this was due to the recent storms and that they are in the process of fixing it up. They claimed they spent two million dollars in exterior structural repairs, but have been so busy and overwhelmed with the recent storm that they have not been able to update the units. If you look outside at the post and columns you can see all the weathered and rotted wood at the base so I have no idea where they could have spent two million dollars. They did ask me “what would make you happy? We can have maintenance go in and fix these problems up.” Rather than we will move you to another unit, I told them I did not see how anything could be done to this unit that would make it acceptable. I noticed a post online where another guest made the comment just ask for another unit, I do not believe this facility has any units that would be considered acceptable that is why an offer to relocate was not made.

My summation of this resort is: gut the units out and completely rehab them.

Room Tip: Location is great, lots to do in Galveston
