This review has a lot of variables - some that were absolutely addressable and some not easily done.
My husband was here on a work trip and we made it a family trip.
First impressions: beautiful courtyard, nice pool, no hot tub, pool bar was pretty cheesy for a Hilton hotel, hotel was clearly having work done, good balconies with beach view.
The elevator smelled like urine and immediately we had to notify someone. They did tend to it.
We slept well. The blackout blind was ideal. There really didn’t seem to be much street noise but it rained the whole time we were there. It took us an exercise in futility to realize the thermostat on the wall was not connected to the thermostat on the unit. The entry light went out on day 2. The tv had to be changed out (see pics) on day 1 because of spots. Nice shower with Crabtree & Evelyn but no bath (not good for little ones).
As far as the front staff - it was a crapshoot. You might get someone who was super cheery and helpful, you might get a guy sitting in the libby on his phone. Lobby coffee service - I’ve never seen it shut down in a Hilton but every day at noon there was NO coffee in the lobby. There is coffee in your room, along with a fridge - no microwave.
The restaurant. We ate breakfast twice. One server really had her act together. The others not so much. Hear me out - they’re essentially making your plate for you that you WOULD have made yourself at a continental and then charging you for it and their service. Our first server knew how to present it all as if it had all been done at one time and it clearly wasn’t her first rodeo. The next waitress brought out each item one thing at a time - including my waffle…then five minutes later some chopped up berries that were supposed to be on my waffle only now your was a cold $14 waffle. She brought my son toast that had mold on it. They can charge you for coffee or you can just grab some in the lobby. It’s poorly executed.
There are bikes you can borrow that my husband and son enjoyed. It was clean.
I dont know. I hate leaving reviews that are just “meh” but that’s what this was. I wouldn’t recommend it but I didn’t hate it. A lot of that, though, is because I’m giving a lot of grace because there was a hurricane a few weeks prior.
