Horse drawn carriages abound on the weekends. Store people were friendly. Every place we ate or snacked was very good. It's a nice place to meander and shop. Prices were very reasonable -- better than expected for a "tourist" area.

The strand contains colorful shops and antiques which are fun to shop in, especially if you are looking for marine items, pictures and souvenirs.

Lovely architecture, gas street lamps and great places to shop and eat. You can also drink alcohol on the street if that's up your alley. We had fun doing the old time picture thing. Did the night ghost tour which was cool.

Very cute, interesting area with antique/souveniour/boutiques/ and empty store fronts. Worth the trip to explore this. But go on Thursday-Saturday, most of the stores are closed during the week. We didn't know that and went on Wednesday, very disappointing. Restaurants are open all week though.

The last time I had been to the Strand was almost 11 years ago. One of my must stop shops was no longer there (The Emporium). The building are still beautiful as ever, but it was just different and not the same. We still had a good time looking in all the shops and getting our sugar rush at La Kings. Street parking is no longer free. You can pay on your phone or at one the booths. Get there early before it gets too crowded.
