Dallas Marriott City Center
Ranked #27 of 205 Hotels in Dallas
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 29 May 2012

*Stayed here for a Saturday night on a free night stay from Marriott reward card. The room was newly renovated and clean. This hotel was formerly a Westin and I was told by the staff that Marriott came in and updated the lobby and rooms. Hotel is slow and the city center closed for the most part on the weekend...although the ice rank was open for use. The hotel staff was friendly and eager to please.

*FYI-The valet parking option is 24.90 with tax.

*The hotel is in the Arts District of Dallas with many options available for the guests. Our room faced Downtown on the 15th floor and we could hear sirens at one point, although I am sure that is common in a downtown environment.

*The air conditioner did blow on the bed all night which I do not like, but others might enjoy. The a/c did work well on a hot day in Dallas.

*All said...I enjoyed the stay, loved the clean updated room, and would not hesitate to stay again.

Awesome Big Rooms, Luxury and comfort, Great Staff. Went for a business trip , they do have large conference rooms, no pool but a indoor ice rink . Hotel was not really located in an area where i could shop, but it was a very nice hotel. Great Cusine food!

Hotel is located in busy part of town and adjacent to light rail system and some of the downtown party scene. If you are looking for a quiet stay, this is probably not the perfect place. If you need access to the rail system and freeway system, then this is your place. Room were clean and service was above average. I would consider staying again as the price and location offset the downtown noise.

Upon arrival check-in went very smoothly. Each staff member I interacted with was extremely nice and helpfull offering suggestions ranging from entertainment to food to ground transportation. The location is great and within walking distance from the West End Historic and Arts Districts. If you are in town on business it is a great location. If you are with a family, I don't know if it is great as a tourist location. The only problem I had with the room was there was no light in the closet which made it difficult to select cloths and use the safe.

Room Tip: Corner room was great and away from all the noise.

I'm a business traveler and this is the worst hotel I have stayed in my life. !) they charge me for something for which they haven't even proivded service for AFTER I left the hotel. They charged me for room service/dinning which I hadn't even done!.

Then I called the hotel to ask for explanation, instead of looking into the matter, they asked me to email my query and attach hotel folio, proof of extra charge. Then after I emailed them, they never replied back. They wouldn't attend any of my call!

It gets better, Manager and staff lie and they said they NOT received anyof emails and there is something wrong with my email address!!!! And when I asked them to verify their email address, Manager said she is busy (there are guests in the line) and she HANGED UP THE PHONE ON ME!!!
