Reviewed 31 March 2012

I've stayed twice at the Adolphus after hearing about it through a friend. There are cheaper hotels out there, but you won't get the superior service that the Adolphus provides. I also noticed that it wasn't just for me. The staff was caring and helpfu to every patron there. It has a warm, personal atmosphere not like a big corporate chain. It is central to downtown and easy to get to. I will definately return.

Not only is the Adolphus beautiful decorated with museum quality artwort and beautiful wood paneling., the food is amazing, and the staff are beyond amazing. We had made a mistake on our reservations, but Mark and Aaron at the front desk worked hard to make sure we had a room and even up graded us to a beautiful comforatble suite. There was no snobbiness among the staff towards the clients, only a genuine willingness to make sure the stay was pleasant and rewarding. I've traveled all over the world. The Adolphus is the best I've ever stayed in.

Room Tip: all the rooms are good

Got this place on a weekend for $78 a night on Priceline. It made the $26 parking charge easier to take. It is an historical hotel, which was nice to look at but I thought the rooms were quite noisy. Two glasses of wine at the bar were $25. It has a good location in downtown Dallas but I would never pay the going rate to stay there.

This really is a beautiful hotel. Good location, rooms lovely, the French Restaurant was excellent - as good as any celebrity chef restaurant I have visited. Attentive staff in both the hotel and the restaurant - first class overall. My only criticism would be expensive parking and no complimentary breakfast (always a bonus). Recommended.

We spent a night here while visiting my daughter who lives in Uptown a few miles away. The lobby is lovely and you can tell some effort goes into making this area an experience. Our room was on the fifth floor and we didn't have any trouble others have expressed with hot water etc. Our only complaints are the lack of view from our room and the fact that although we had booked and received a confirmation of a king size bed, it was only a queen. I was too tired to make an issue of the bed size since it was only for a night and my husband had already starting unpacking. We didn't care about a view, but it may be important to others. The room itself was very large, clean and comfortable. We had plenty of space to relax and move around without bumping into the bed like in other hotels.I would definitely go back when we visit again, just make sure when I get the keys I know what size bed it will be.

Dear Guest,

We appreciate your thoughtful, balanced review.

The higher floors offer the best views, and we have many guestrooms with dazzling city views. Please accept our apologies for the disappointment caused by the wrong bed size. You were kind to be gracious about it. We will certainly make it up to you on your next visit.

Thank you, again, for sharing your experience with other travelers.

Best,

David
