“Great family friendly food”

Made a quick stop for lunch on a late Saturday afternoon. Great halfway pausing point between Waco and Bryan (College Station). It's a family run business that has been around for about four years. The food was tasty and the dessert was worth finding the extra room for. The restaurant was clean and they are constantly working to add personal touches to the decor. The food was freshly prepared and served quickly. The chips are homemade and delicious. I'm glad we stopped here instead of a chain restaurant and would gladly do so again.

The owner is from New Mexico so the chile is the real deal.

The chips and salsa are home made and oh so good. Very different from regular chips. My mom got an off-the-menu taco with meat and potatoes. I got the zoro burger, smothered in green Chile sauce. As a side, we got the fried pickles and onions.

For dessert we got the blueberry cobbler. Very jammy and thick. A bit too sweet for my taste, but my mom liked it.

A nice little find. Will stop in again during our next trip.

Food was good. The owner was an excellent host. Service was a little slow. He ordered hamburger steak and I had baked potato with chili on top.

My cheeseburger was beautiful—a big well-cooked flavorful patty, toasty bun, and delicious pickles. Even the lettuce and tomato were fresh and pretty. My husband enjoyed his hamburger steak, fried okra, green beans, and buttermilk pie. We will remember Zorro’s the next time we’re driving through Calvert at mealtime!

We read Trip Advisor and tried it for lunch. We had the special—hamburger, side, and drink for $5.99. Great burger with generous handmade patty and the onion rings were as wonderful as TA reviews said. What a bargain! We would definitely stop again!
