It doesn't get much better than this in Boerne. Lunch atmosphere was great, temperature was great, and food was great.

This is a wonderful German-Austrian style restaurant on the banks of Cibolo Creek. The ambience, food and service is great. The Bavarian meatloaf, red cabbage and mashed potatoes are great...along with the prototype of pilsner beers made with the Saaz hops. My wife had the clam chowder and the BLT salad. She says she would order again.
Mikel is very helpful with their menu items and he has a great/wry sense of humor. You will enjoy your visit.

Our golf group liked the German/Czech food and loved the beer. The schnitzel offering were great. One guy said to avoid the goulash.

We really had planned to go somewhere else, but it was late a nd we were hungry, so we tried the little Gretel. We were seated outside on their lovely patio and promptly served. The wait staff was excellent, and so kind. The smells of the different meals that came out of the kitchen were heavenly. I wanted to try everything! We ended up with Jaeger schnitzel and it was fabulous. We also had the salad, red cabbage and spaetzle. I have eaten a lot of German food, but can easily say, this was some of the best! For dessert we shared strawberry dumplings. Yum!!! Will I go back? Every chance I get! Thank you Little Gretel.

A friend and I decided to try the Gretel restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised by the food, service and decor of the restaurant. We had the schnitzel and it was delicious. The food was moderately priced as was the beer and wine. All in all, worth the trip to Boerne to enjoy some German cuisine.
