Third time is a charm. Short notice reservation, we ended up in the cabin across the road from the new swimming hole. Six of us this time, some old, a couple young adults and two kids and all were happy. We will go back as this is one of our favorite places.

We wanted to find a getaway for our anniversary weekend, but wanted something that was kid friendly since we were making it a family trip. We booked our trip on the 4th of July weekend, we got the Cimarron cabin. It had room for four, a queen bed and a pull out couch. The cabin included nice amenities; deck with hot tub and seating, picnic table, rocking chair on front porch, private driveway. The ranch itself had a beautiful, in-ground pool, children's playground, basketball hoop/balls, hiking trails, animals roaming on the property (2 longhorns, cow, chickens, lamas, goats, horses, dogs, cats). They built it out to look like the old west, with a bank, store, restaurant, chuck wagon, windmill, etc. My kids thought it was the coolest trip ever. They even had a scavenger hunt that guest could go on. We had some clues to find, scattered throughout the "town". We solved the riddle and the kids were rewarded for their efforts. The Copper Penny is the cafe, they have a nightly menu that is similar to a bed in breakfast, what ever they are serving is what they have that night. We had some green chili burgers that were quite tasty and a good value for what you get. They served breakfast as well, again, a good value for portions. Everything was delish. The Saturday night mean was an old west style chuck wagon. The dinner was cooked outside in dutch ovens and the grill. We had the steak with cowboy beans, country potatoes and the most deliousous blueberry cobbler.

What made our stay even better were the owners, Traci and Jason. They went out of their way to make sure every detail of our stay was pleasant. Traci was literally the nicest person I think I have met.

One thing that was really special is each cabin has a journal that you can write about your experience at the ranch. Of course we made an entry as well. It was a nice way to unplug from the city life and have complete relaxation and solitude. Enjoyed every minute of it! We plan to return.

We stayed here back in 2013 and they've improved this little place a lot since then...the owners Jason and Traci have almost built themselves a little town here now. Complete with a Restaurant and General Store onsite. They are now offering a chuck wagon style dinner on the weekends...
Their cabins are small, charming and secluded...each with their own personal hot tub on a deck out back...Great place to enjoy the quiet, check out the stars at night, and explore a little....We had planned a return trip and had it all scheduled...unforeseen circumstances forced us to cancel....Jason was all too understanding of our situation and we were very appreciative of that...

We'll go back someday...

the hideaway ranch was everything we had wanted in a family get together. when you are looking on the computer at all the ranches in texas and trying to choose one only by the info on their web site , you can only hope that you have made the right choice. well after being there this week 3/9 to 3/11/ 2015 I can tell you this place is awesome. my son, grandson and I had a great time and only have good things to say about Traci , Jason and their whole family. they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and attended to our needs and requests with true texas hospitality. the cabins are great with the hot tub on the back deck, the chuck wagon dinner was tasty and the horseback riding was amazing even for us that have not ridden before. we will be going back again and if you are looking to get your cowboy on... this is the place

Room Tip: all the cabins are different sizes to fit your family size, we stayed in the yellastone and was a good size for 3 to 4 people

We stubbled onto this place and it was such a pleasant surprise. My family of four stayed in the Chimarron Cabin. It was clean and very private for some good family time. Also had a hot tub. The grounds are clean, the owners are over the top friendly, and the roaming animals made it super fun for the kids. The thing we missed was a fire ring at our cabin other than that we absolutly loved it here and would recommend to anyone.
