We decided to stay an extra night in the area and came across this great place. We had been staying in Pigeon Forge, TN ( if you want great views with peace and quiet don’t go near Pigeon Forge, TN). The front desk staff was friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. We came to the area for Nice views and to visit the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. This motel in literally minutes away from the park. We will be staying here for our future visits.

Note: shower did not have a drain plug so you could not draw a bath. Not sure if this was just our room or part of their eco friendly measures.

This was our second time her at Gateway Inn. The hospitality and kindness of the staff are the reason we came back. It is very quiet and peaceful here. They treat you like family.
We even enjoyed the evening sitting out by the fire pit and enjoying the cold, evening air.
We were also able to take our fur baby Luke with us. They are pet friendly in some of the rooms, they just need to know ahead of time. Some rooms are no pets, some are pet friendly.
The hospitality baskets with snacks were appreciated after our day at Cades Cove.

Room Tip: call ahead if interested in a pet friendly room.

I was shocked when the door was opened and I finally stepped inside. This is one of the best stays I've ever had and unless they are booked when I want to go, I will never stay any place else.
The floors have the Wood Plank Laminate Flooring, the walls have been painted and the bathroom area is all tile. The beds have all white with a gold runner at the foot. Our room had a small fridge, microwave and table with 2 chairs. Outside is where you relax while rocking in the large wooden rockers and listening to & watching to water running over a small dam while enjoying the goody basket they bring you with and assortment of snacks. There is an asphalted walk that runs from the beginning of the town to almost the end.You can rent bicycles for one or one built for two! It truly is one of the best stays and you won't be disappointed.

We rented one of the available cabins for a Thursday and Friday night. (A word of caution. These cabins are not for anyone who finds stairs a challenge as there are about 9 stairs up from the parking area.) Our goal was to visit Cades Cove in Great Smokey Mountains National Park on Friday. At this time of year (February) the office is not always staffed, but the courtesy phone was answered promptly and in just a couple of minutes our host, David, arrived to check us in and show us to our cabin. As has been mentioned in other reviews this is a family run/owned establishment. The cabin is pleasantly spacious for two with a "great room," bedroom, bathroom, and closet/water heater combo. It was very clean! If one enjoys the tongue and groove pine board style of the 1950s and 1960s this is the place for you. Well done with nice tile area in the kitchen and bathroom. We found the bathroom cold water faucet handle to be non-functioning during the evening, but it was taken care of the next day while we were visiting the park. (Not a big deal really, though housekeeping should have reported it upon cleaning the room prior to our arrival, but did cost our 5-star rating.) During our stay the area was very quiet making for a good night's rest. Ask your host to explain the wall heater/air conditioner as it took us some trying to figure out how to use. However, it was very effective as a heater which is what we needed at this time of year. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if in the area. The gift basket of snacks was an appreciated touch as well.
