We just spent 2 weeks at Hideaway on the Creek and we loved it. The cabin doesn't feel like a rental cabin at all thanks to all the personal touches Myra and Rob added to it. From the moment we sent our first booking request they were very responsive and pleasant to work with.
The cabin is very clean and comfortable and the amenities are amazing, everything you need is there and more. We ate in the cabin most evenings and the kitchen is well equipped too.
The location is perfect, on a quiet road in the woods but close to Townsend and Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
On our last day there was bear on the road and in the woods by the cabin. We been lucky to see a lot of bears but this was a unique experience, we had a private viewing from the deck.
Hideaway on the Creek felt like home away from home to us and we will certainly return in the future.
This is quiet seclusion at it's best! Very private with just the right size for 2 people. Very clean. The small creek was so calming. I would recommend this to folks that want to get away from traffic and noise or people in general.
The Smokies are my happy place, and Hideaway is the ONLY place my dog & I will stay on my annual visit to the mountains. Here's why:
1. I really like Myra & Rob, the owners. They're kind and honest people & I enjoy supporting their business. Plus, they are super-easy to work with!
2. The cabin itself is very nice. A lot of rentals in the area are bare-bones/owners do just enough to maintain them. Not so with Hideaway! Myra & Rob are always improving something - since my first visit 5 years ago, they have installed new flooring, new counter tops, a new back splash, and all new windows - just to name the big things they've done.
3. They remember the little things, too - like nice soaps/lotions in the bathroom, enough toilet paper/towels, spices in the kitchen, and even dog bowls/dog biscuits for my dog!
4. The creek. That sound is heaven!
I could keep going, but the bottom line is that this is a great rental at a great price, and I highly recommend it.
This was a great little cabin. Just the right size for 2 people. Nicely decorated. Well supplied with a variety of games, movies, blankets. Essential spices, coffee. The soap and shampoos were nicer than the average hotel supply. It rained the majority of our stay, so we didn't get to utilize the patio area. But it looked peaceful, with the hammock and stringed lights.
The location was excellent. 1/2 mile off the main 4 lane through Townsend. So stopping back by between shopping and dining out was no problem. About 3 miles from the National Park. A decent selection of restaurants, antique stores, grocery, and activities nearby.
The scenery was excellent. A stream running through the front yard. Some places advertise waterfront, but this place has a bridge from the deck to the mailbox. In warmer weather I imagine you could open the windows and listen to the stream from the living or dining room.
A superb experience. This place will be our first choice for a couples getaway, hopefully, for years to come.
