The cabin has great mountain views as advertised. Owners were very easy to deal with and answered messages promptly.
My family enjoyed our time in the cabin and in the Smoky Mountains immensely! We made so many fun memories together. The views from the balconies and from inside the cabin were breathtaking and beautiful! There wasn't a time where one of us wasn't sighing and saying how much we were going to miss this cabin and the gorgeous views once our vacation was over. We were so blessed to see a double rainbow over the mountains the day before we left.
The kids loved playing the video games upstairs and we all enjoyed watching movies/ television together in the family theater in the evenings. We also hung out on the balconies just to soak in the views sitting in the rocking chairs or in the hot tub. The younger kids loved swimming in the pool too! My older kids had a blast ziplining at Legacy Mountain Ziplines just down the road from the cabin.
The king size beds were comfortable and there were enough towels for a family of eight. It was convenient to have a washer and dryer; just had to do small loads because they are apartment size appliances. The grill is charcoal so be sure to bring charcoal with you. We are used to gas grilling so if you are not familiar with charcoal grilling be sure to watch videos on how to do it before you grill; it seems to take longer than gas grilling. But the food came out just fine.
Daniel, the owner, answered our calls or texts within a few minutes and was always helpful and very kind.
If you go to the Smoky Mountains, definitely do The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, Newfound Gap, and Clingman's Dome. You will see waterfalls and beautiful views of the mountains. But get an early start, it gets busy by 10:30 A.M.(better to go during weekday vs weekend to avoid crowds). We saw a black bear sitting alongside the road playing with a tree branch.
In Gatlinburg, we did the Anakeesta Mountain Park where we were able to take a tram ride up the side of a mountain and walk on rope bridges through the treetops.
There are also some shops up there as well as areas to take scenic pics of the mountains. We ate breakfast at Crockett"s Camp which served outstanding food and provided excellent service. Gatlinburg is also a fun touristy place to walk around and shop for souvenirs.
In Pigeon Forge, we liked our visit to The Island. The younger kids were able to do a rope and ziplining course there while the females in the family shopped around the various shops in the complex. We also took a family photograph at the Old Time Photo Shop. The photographers there were very sweet and patient. Another activity my kids enjoyed in Pigeon Forge was Topjump which is an indoor trampoline park with wall climbing, and a ninja warrior course.
You will not be disappointed with the cabin. It is so cozy and comfortable especially after a busy day of activity! We hope to stay again in the near future
All the best,
Beautiful views, you just can’t stop sitting on the porches. Recommend to every age. So much to do in the cities close by. Nice get away and very comfortable for 2 couples. We had our own king bed, bathroom & thermostat!!!! This cabin could use a deep, deep cleaning but it was ok.
Eagle Heaven is perfect for your family's next vacation to the Smoky Mountains. The unobstructed view provides a 180-degree view of the mountains, including breathtaking sunrises. The cabin could easily handle up to 8 without feeling crowded. The upstairs loft provided plenty of entertainment for our kids, allowing us time to read and enjoy the hot tub on the lower deck. The upper and lower decks are very large, and have several seating areas. The cabin overall is very clean and up-to-date.
The property location is as ideal as the cabin itself. The cabin is approximately 10-15 minutes from the main attractions, restaurants, grocery stores, and other retail areas in Pigeon Forge. It is approximately 30 minutes to the Gatlinburg entry into the Smoky Mountains, and 45 minutes to the whitewater rafting outfitters.
We'd recommend entering the Smokies via the Townsend entrance. It is a tad quieter, and provides direct access to Cades Cove. If you are traveling to Clingman's Dome, use the Gatlinburg entry. There are several good restaurants in the area. For a bit more upscale, less touristy restaurant, travel to Gatlinburg.
Eagle Heaven is aptly named. We will definitely stay at this property during our next visit to the Smoky Mountains.
The cabin and it’s views were absolutely stunning! We were only minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge!
