Let me start by saying I've never wrote a bad review in my life... But I'm so aggravated by this place it needs to be said.
Stayed in the "new building" a few years ago and had a decent experience. Came back and this place was a thorn in my side the whole trip.

CHECKING IN WAS A NIGHTMARE because my mom booked the room as a gift to us and the woman (the supervisor) was the rudest I've ever experienced. Plus someone was complaining about their room as I was checking in. I should have left then.

THE BED WAS HORRIBLE. It had a metal brace sticking out 6" from the side and covered by a blanket, found that with my shin. The side of the bed was held together with painters tape. The mattresses slept as well as you could imagine a bed rigged together would be.

The WALLS WERE PAPER THIN and we were blessed to share a wall with the pool which we found out is open all night - which made for a very long night of listening to screaming (which ended well after midnight the first night. Then we were woke up at 8:00 by the family next door sitting in front of their room. Not their fault, We could hear every whisper like they were sitting with us.

MAID SERVICE: There was toothpaste spit all over the mirror when we checked in which was never cleaned. The maid never got all the dirty rags and towels out of the room.
The maid one morning was yelling on the phone in Spanish outside our room for 15 minutes at 9:30 this morning. We could hear all of this because the walls are made of rice paper and the crack under the door was large enough to fit nyc rats.

The remote didn't work which they fixed quickly but the CABLE WAS GLITCHY the whole time and there was NO WIFI. They say they have it and every once in a while it would connect but of our families million devices, not one would hold connection log enough to load a webpage.

We take all the reviews posted to this site very seriously and each statement made was fully investigated. The reservation was made without any notification it was a gift, the reservation and the credit card submitted were two different names. We have gift certificates and other options available for gifting accommodations. The credit card company states that a credit card must be presented with identification. We understand it can be aggravating but it is simply for the protection of the credit card holder that use is approved. As you were not the credit card holder and did not produce a credit card in your name for approved use, it was a time consuming process but appropriate policies were followed.
The communication you overheard upon checking in was simply a guest making a request and not a complaint as stated in your review. We have fully investigated all aspects of your check in post this review.
The bed upon which you slept for three (3) nights was not rigged in any manner and the front desk is available 24/7 to make guests more comfortable.
The doors are industry standard and do not have gaps as described, fire code dictates the door to floor space that is present on the hotel property.
The cable and wifi are provided by a national company and we are not aware of any issues during your stay.
Your room was inspected prior to check in and was not in the state described. The stay over housekeeping service was given to your room as allowed.
We apologize if a guest or staff member disturbed you, the front desk is available 24/7 to assist with guest needs.
The front desk employees went beyond the call of duty to accommodate your needs as this credit card situation should of deemed a refusal of service.
We will continue the quest to exceed the expectations of our guests and welcome you to contact the hotel if you would like to discuss this matter.

First I will list the PROS: Clean, spacious room and friendly check in staff;
The CONS: the walls are so thin that we could hear the neighbors laughing, talking and "other" stuff. The noise from the traffic is awful; the bathroom is so tiny and when the neighbors take a shower, it is also loud. You can hear people walking outside your door.
The pictures definitely misrepresent the rooms! The price was a little high for what we actually received. I didn't realize that the door opens up the outside instead of a hallway. We will not be staying here again.

We are saddened to hear about the noise issue, the friendly front desk is available 24 hours to assist with guests that disturb other rooms. Please note we are not aware of any noise from traffic, our rooms do not face the main street. We invite you to contact us to discuss your experience.

Excellent customer service, spacious rooms and very comfortable beds with ample pillows. Jacuzzi was a plus for my 80-yr old mother and I liked the sauna. Breakfast was very tasty with gravy, biscuits, eggs, sausage, etc. Slight odor in heating unit but I always carry good smelly spray so that was not an issue. Traffic sound a little loud in the first building where we stayed but I always carry ear plugs and sleeping pills so that was never a problem either. Centrally located to good food, best attractions and shopping!! P.S. There are back roads that run parallel to the main stretch and will save you lots of time sitting through stoplights.

This hotel was nothing like I expected. It's truly like an overpriced motor lodge. There are 2 hotels combined to be under the same name. If you decide to stay here stay in the front building because these rooms are apparently better. The elevator in the front building is outside of the actual building. The room I paid over $100 for was located on the 3rd floor and had a great view of a Firehouse Subs (the people at the front desk bragged about the view of the mountains). There was a lot of noise from the road. Our coffee pot and shower were dirty. The continental breakfast was in the other building, is over at 9:30, and doesn't have near enough seating so we grabbed our food and walked all the way back to our room. The staff was not too friendly or accommodating.

The Shular Inn is centrally located in the heart of Pigeon Forge within walking distance or short trolley ride to all area attractions. There are two buildings, one has the front desk & indoor pool open 24 hours and the second has a seasonal outdoor pool & picnic areas. The second building also hosts the continental breakfast with seating for over a 100 guests and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Shular Inn was built on the parkway commanding such success it warranted the additional building just a few years later. We are very proud of the amenities available on the property and regret your experience. We would like the opportunity to change your current opinion and invite you to contact us at your convenience.

We booked a double bed room in the main building with the pool. The room was tidy and clean. Tiny bathroom but adequate :) FYI the beds are very firm and I had a hard time sleeping. Not a bad thing just not my thing :) The front desk staff was pleasant at every encounter. Room was cleaned every day. The pool was great! Breakfast was great every morning! Price was very reasonable. Loved that we could walk to a lot of stuff.
