We think we've tried everything on the menu here, but Val is always surprising us with more! Today, we had Russian ravioli known as Pelminis! It was so tasty. It's served with Russian flatbread and coleslaw and plenty to eat. She makes us her delicious borscht to take home with handmade pirochkes stuffed with potatoes or sauerkraut. What a meal! The atmosphere is warm and charming. We love bringing friends here.

Stopped by Grill 73 based on TripAdvisor and was extremely glad we did! This place is off the beaten path, but the drive out to the address is beautiful. The owners are Russian, so the food is authentic and amazingly delicious! We tried both types of fresh pirochke's (cabbage, and then the potato/bacon/onion), and loved them both with sour cream. We then had the cabbage rolls and the entree called scallop pie (?) (a pork chop with potatoes), which were both amazing. We ended our meals with dessert, which were fresh, homemade butterscotch crepes --- all from scratch (including the caramel). They we were the best crepes I've ever had, hands down! Failed to mention that the iced tea they serve is made from a loose tea leaf imported from Russia, which has a wonderful fruit flavor. We will be making future trips to this area just to eat at Grill 73, which is about 3 hours away. Yep, it's actually THAT good!!!! Don't miss it, and drive the few extra miles out of your way to experience this food. Your mouth will thank you :) And, the owners and their friends are super friendly, so the entire experience was incredible!!

It is about a mile out of Newport on 73, the drive is gorgeous! The food is WONDERFUL! The slaw is to die for as is the egg salad. Everything is made from scratch-even the slaw is cut by hand! Her seasoning is beyond reproach! They serve Russian as well as American dishes. It is easy to get into and very home. It is like going to your favorite relative home and eating then enjoying good conversation afterward.

Was a halfway point to meet out college aged son. I was skeptical at first. My husband selected this restaurant based on the high trip advisor rating. I was pleasantly surprised. It was neat and clean, the food was good, and the owner explained all the dishes to us. We tried a variety. We will return!
