This place is an experience! It's huge and impressive. Full grown palmtrees grow inside, are dwarfed by the size of the place.
All staff is incredibly helpful, service oriented and professional.
I had a great room, large and clean and a nice bed.
In all aspects it is on the high end of the scale.

Now.. I have read reviews where people complain about the price of the food and drinks.
This is my personal view: No one is forcing you. If you can't afford it; don't hang out here.
Stay home.
Take your Scrooge legs across the street.
Go to Wimpies.
Come on.. you want your quality, you have to pay for it.

We stayed here in May 2011. 3 nights. Rooms are clean and nice. We had a room overlooking the gardens. So lovely.Restaurants are good but pricey. We had breakfast at the deli's located in each garden where the rooms are. Bagel was couple dollars and coffee was too. Convenient and quick but somewhat pricey. My two daughters (in their twenties) enjoyed this hotel. The grand ole opry is next door. You need shuttle or car to get there. Downtown is about 15 minutes from hotel.

Room Tip: If you don't care about a view just get standard room. The extra cost is for the garden view.

After saying for years we should visit Nashville we finally booked it last minute for a long weekend. In spite of a convention going on at the Opryland Resort, we were able to get a very nice room overlooking the Garden Conservatory, one of 3 (and the smallest) indoor atriums, the others being The Cascades and The Delta. Each has a different theme. The Cascades has a large waterfall (which one can walk behind) and other water features such as shooting fountains. The Delta has a southern riverfront theme with a small riverboat ride around the atrium's perimeter, The burgers at Stage are delicious and the nightly water/light show,is worth a look (both are in The Delta). The Garden Conservatory is somewhat quieter than the others, with lush tropical plants, many in close proximity to the rooms' balconies. It is also the most intimate of the 3 atriums, with winding paths meandering throughout and occasional benches and small courtyards to sit and take in the different tropical plants and water falls, streams, bridges, etc. There are dining options ranging from coffee shops to a sushi bar and an Italian restaurant overlooking the atriums. The elevated walkways are nice to take in everything from about 20 feet in the air. Most of the 2500+ rooms facing the atriums have a balcony to sit on and to take in the sights and sounds of nature and the people walking about.

The room itself was comfortable and large enough for 2, with queen pillow top beds, flat screen HD TV, refrigerator, room safe and the balcony with the view; great for enjoying a morning coffee.

Self parking, while a little steep ($18.00/day) was just a short walk to the hotel's entrances. The hotel runs shuttle buses to the Gran Old Opry which is about 1/2 mile from the hotel. The hotel is about 15 minutes from either downtown Nashville or the Nashville Airport. We had rented a car but in talking with cabbies the flat rate from the airport runs about $26.00 for 2 passengers.

Room Tip: While most of the rooms offer a great atrium view, floor 3 and above offer the best views to the exp...

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff but pricey in terms of food and there aren't any options nearby so you must purchase on site.
