Dinner stop

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Aug 2016via mobile
Returning home from Mt Buller hopping for a fairly quick dinner stop. Whilst all our food was great tasting and of the highest standard and prices good the disappointing part was we had to wait over an hour for our food. Would recommend if you have the time.

Stayed here on a business trip one night and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the accommodation and meals were. The blue steak was blue. The rooms are magnificent and great value.
Alistair is a very accommodating host.
Highly recommend

Definitely not welcoming on arrival - approached the bar to ask where we could sit, caught the attendant yawning, he said we could sit anywhere. Handed us some menus, got us a high chair & left us. Back to the bar to order, another bout of yawning (clearly he'd had a big night) and I ordered. My pizza was expensive and very very overloaded with cheese, couldn't eat the middle part and the crust was ordinary. My daughter had the steak sandwich, found it was dry and overloaded again with extras. The fries were good. Spaghetti for granddaughter looked nice. Very disappointing as the hotel had good reviews and we were just passing through and thought the food would be up to the standard indicated by other reviewers.

It is well renovated with very clean room, bed sheets crisp and great hot shower after a long days drive. I didn't eat whilst there as I was on a business trip but the menu looked good. Alister the owner or manager was very welcoming.

Stayed in April 2016 for one night. Accommodation is excellent. The bed is one of the best I have slept in. The meal was also lovely. All round and excellent place to stay and eat. Yea itself is a lovely little spot. The wetlands just down the road from the Hotel are worth a visit.

I recently had a very nice meal at the Royal Mail hotel. I'm not vegetarian, but I tried the grilled Halloumi cheese salad. It was such a lovely change from meat. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My family had the daily special of sweet & sour fried chicken & the grilled salmon & they enjoyed their meals as well.
