“Great time”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

This review is from a late 20's couple and our stay was in August 2011 for a week. We are a young, adventurous, fun, in shape couple. We are not into five star dining, staying at the most expensive or fancy places or require everything picture perfect or the best. We like middle of the road and we keep money in mind and spend wisely. Here is our review from the Newport Beach Resort.

Overall experience was very good. Check in and check out were both good. The $18 valet parking fee per day is kind of expensive but what are you going to do. The Valet workers were very good and polite and always got the car quickly.

The rooms are very clean and we stayed in a 10th floor ocean front and it was gorgeous. Maids always kept it clean and the bathroom was clean upon arrival. The elevators absolutely sucked and we took the stairs several times because of the long wait especially during high traffic time because they only have two elevators. The 401 restaurant was excellant as well as the bar. The pool was clean and very nice.

South beach is a quick 30 minute drive as well as MIA or FLL airports. It is right in the middle of both. There are several other places to grab a bite or drink and the beach of course is amazing.

Haulover beach (nude beach) is the main reason we stayed at this hotel and it is a short 10-15 minute walk or less then five minute drive down the road but you have to pay to park everyday.

Tip: unless you plan on doing site seeing or visiting different places away from the hotel/beach dont rent a car, it will save a lot of money. There are several ways to get to South Beach without having a rental car.

We would go back and stay here again.

The pros: Pool on a side, nightclub with restaurant, close to shopping, by the ocean very plus.

The cons: Stuff not organized, very upset i guess that they have to work, the worst part they are trying to sale share time people are coming there on vacation from sometimes cites that are stressful we don't want to buy a share time when we come on vacation live it alone, take care of your guests and they will take care of you ($$$$). I hope this gives you idea :)

Other than that i spend a good quality time with my friends.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times, and each time, I've had to switch rooms to ensure I receive a clean updated room. At my last stay in June, the hotel showed it desperately needed to generate revenues. It's private beach was occupied by locals, who used the huts and beach chairs that were available for guests. They brought their 20 relatives with them and literally set up camp, playing loud music and using the pool. As a guest visiting for a short time, it was horrible because it was loud, overly crowded, and not a relaxing environment. Sadly, the hotel staff treated the locals as VIPs, quoting the front desk. And the beach manager said his staff catered to locals because they make more money from them. I was envious of the adjacent hotel/condo because it kept its privacy. This place is no longer worth the hassle or the money. So much for a relaxing vacation. Only plus side is that housekeeping did a decent job cleaning our room. Overall, I'm never coming back here again.

We planned a trip with our two kids from NY to Florida and we were looking for a kid friendly, but yet fun for adults hotel. Newport exceeded our expectations. The staff was excellent, the hotel super kids friendly, the food was amazing, and more important we had no reason to leave the hotel for anything. The Kids loved the pool and the beach and all the entertainment....the birds in the lobby were a huge hit. 305 is the best restaurant... Make sur you stop by for happy hour and some seafood. The spa is brand new and a must too. We really had a great time and will be back very soon. My husbands considers it home away from home. We even are considering buying a time share.

This was my first time vacationing with my husband and child, and I was so impressed with the fun, but FAMILY atmosphere. There were a ton of kids activities daily, and the restaurant/lounge had something fun going on almost every night that we were able to enjoy as a family. I will definitely be back to this one!!
