I don't understand why The Waterings gets such high marks.....
The carpet in our room sorely needs replacing, and at a minimum needed a good vacuuming: it was just dirty. Our room smelled and felt very musty, the furniture is tired, the bed just OK, and the hosts seemed like maybe they need a break after a long season.
There are lots of choices for breakfast, and the food should get four stars.
Certainly not deserving of five star reviews from our perspective.

Really sorry to see this review.

It would have been helpful if you could have taken these issues up with me at check-out.

I would appreciate it if you could email us directly, so I can clairify exactly which room you occupied.

We are aware that some of the carpets are suffering after a long season of walking boots and beach sand. We will shortly be starting our winter program of washing all the carpets and decorating our guest rooms. We are hoping to start replacing furniture in our rooms next year.

Apologies if you feel in some way, that I the host, (there’s only 1) was not as you expected. I try to be helpful, informative and courteous with all my guests.

Regards
William

B&B was very clean and comfortable, with excellent generous breakfast and very friendly, helpful staff. It has loads of parking, and is conveniently located about 10 minutes' walk from the city centre. The city itself is delightful - beautiful, interesting Cathedral and ruins of Bishop's Palace next door (the latter has admission fee, but free to CADW or English Heritage members). Very near to lovely Pembrokeshire coast and coast path. Beware trying to eat in town out of season - on a Friday night, we found places were either shut, full or very expensive.

Stayed here for one night. What a great place. Great location for stroll into city. Room and bed so comfy. Breakfast was ideal. Can't fault anything about this stay. Recommend it no problems. Will stay again on next visit.

The Waterings was very comfortable with knowledgeable staff and an excellent breakfast. It was easy to walk into town (or further), and great coastal walks were a short drive away. Very quiet surroundings in a well appointed room. Only issues were that the furnishings were a bit old (saggy sofa) and plug ins not well placed (no power point near a good mirror - the bathroom was only good for a razor, not a curling iron).

Very nice room called 'Cabin Boy', comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Ideal location very close to centre of St David's, and the Oriel y Parc visitor centre. We found it was an ideal base for walking part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
