After reading negative reviews thought I should write to say we have stayed twice this year once in the main building and once in the annex.
On each occasion we have found the staff to be very pleasant and the accommodation to be more than adequate, we preferred the annex as this appears to be more up to date.
As a bonus we can bring our small dog along who is made welcome.
We ate at the gazelle for our evening meal on two occasions and found the food to be first class on both times and good value.
The breakfast also was good and set us up for the day.
The outside area looks a bit run down but we are told this is to be attended to this year so don't let this put you off, try it yourself I'm sure you will be glad that you did.

Room Tip: Think the annex is best and have a balcony to sit out

We visited the Gazelle Hotel on a lovely sunny Saturday. We approached the hotel from Beaumaris and did not see the sign to turn left to go down to the hotel main car park. The sign from this direction sends you into a small car park with lots of steps to go down to the main hotel. We concluded that there must be another way down. If you are heading from Menai Bridge the sign down to the proper car park is very clear.

On reaching this car park we were struck by the wonderful views across to the Menai Bridge; wonderful mountain scenary and the Menai Straits itself. On a busy day the car park can be tight.

There is some seating outside but not much. One thing that nearly stopped us going in was the physical appearance of the hotel but we were glad we went in.

We had a lovely cheese and ham ploughman's dish for the first visit - this is worth it just for the Black Bomber Snowdonia Cheese! On the second visit we had a lovely pasta dish which was delicious again.

The staff were welcome, friendly and helpful.

We will definitely go here again but to eat and not to stay. The hotel could do with looking at it's appeal from the outside.

We saw the views across the water and thought what a great place for a pub lunch. Saw The Gazelle and stopped. The views are magnificient. Unfortunately the food served was not.

Friendly staff, great location although difficult and limited parkjng at the bottom of a single track very steep road.

Our food order, the special sandwiches with sides included were not very good. A single thin slice of processed ham us not what was required. Nor the two tiny pots of coleslaw and picalli. A salad that died on tne way to the presentation board with an awful dressing. Surely the kitchen staff can do better than that. My wifes cheese version was fine. Mine very disappointing.

Stop for a beer and take in the view. Not a dining experience on this showing.

Obviously the fantastic weather makes this a great little hidden gem! We had a nice Sunday lunch (asked for a window seat....got one) and the new young lady who served us was lovely. Think you should have proper carved meat(lamb for me) as it didn't appear to be so but altogether a nice experience. Owner was very welcoming.

Great location, our room had wonderful views across the Straits, and we enjoyed a lovely sunrise over The Great Orme one morning, the room was clean and contained almost everything a traveler would require, But, we did ask for a jug of milk, as there is only UHT on offer in the room, and at this point, I will say, ALL the staff members were very helpful and obliging. The shower was slow to drain, but it never over flowed, the rooms were a bit tired but homely, nowt fancy but clean. Breakfast, got to say the vegetarian options were poor, it was a case of eggs tomato mushrooms or toast, which is what my Love had, I the full breakfast,of which day two was the nicer, mainly because I had a poached egg instead of the scrambled, which I thought was awful, they seemed to of over loaded it with cream !!!! it was like a milky pudding on my plate ,As a result of the lack of veggie options for breakfast, and evening meals, we ate out every night, so we couldn't comment on them, although, there was a lot of diners, so we must assume it was all ok. The pub, was great, the beers were well kept with a choice of cask ales. Would I stay again ? I wouldn't discount it, it was the veggie thing that disappointed. Warning, lots of steep stairs to the upper floor, if you struggle with such things, also the road down to the car park is steep an narrow, plenty of room for one though.
