“Lovely spacious stay”

Stayed here for 3 nights just recently and cannot fault the place only for the road that leads upto the barn. In our volvo this was quite tricky and did put us off going out a few times. It's a lovely place though and well heated and very spacious for our 1 yr old to crawl about in. A fireguard would come in handy though but the barn was warm enough so this wasn't needed. Everything was provided, kitchenware, washing up gear and towels. The owners are great and the area is very beautiful. Dolgellau was 15 mins from us and less than 30 mins to the beach. A great place to stay.

Thanks for the review but just wanted to add a comment regarding the drive as it now seems to be worrying many prospective renters. We have a saloon car ourselves and come up and down the drive several times a day without problem as do nearly all the people who stay. It is rather steep but should not present a problem for a normal saloon car if driven up in first gear at constant speed.

“Beautiful location and nicely done up, well equipped and clean barn conversion.”

My husband and I stayed for two nights for a cycling holiday. The location is fairly remote - which suited us just fine - and the views across the surrounding countryside are marvellous! The owners of the cottage were friendly and welcoming and on hand as they occupy the farmhouse next door. We were really impressed with how beautifully the barn had been done up and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I imagine the walking in the area is fab and it is close to Barmouth which is a lovely beach and a few nice towns are not too far a drive away. We came mainly for the mountain biking at Coed y Brenin which was approximately a half hour (pleasant) drive away. Would definitely consider returning as the rent was excellent value for money! Only a couple of minor drawbacks, the wooden slats on the bed were very creaky so neither of us got the best nights sleep as we kept waking ourselves up whenever we moved. We had a little trouble with the wifi - it worked absolutely fine with our phones but was a little temperamental on the laptop. Also would advise turning on the water heater on arrival as we struggled to get enough hot water for both of us to have hot showers without it. The owners have put together a great folder that tells you everything you need to know about the cottage and we REALLY enjoyed the wood burner - so nice and cosy! Thanks for a lovely stay.

“Beautiful location”

Lovely location about 15 mins by car to Dolgellau and Machynlleth. Plenty of good walks, places to visit. The cottage is quite a new development and we were very impressed with the underfloor heating, the weather was quite cold for a few days and the heating was good, we did not need to use the log burner. Only problems were minor - could do with a mirror on the wall or a free standing full length mirror in the bedroom, its not easy doing your hair with a small shaving mirror; a rug in the main lounge would make it a bit cosier, all the floor downstairs is stone, as would some material scatter cushions on the two leather sofas. A coat/shoe stand by the door for wet outdoor gear would also by useful, I do stress that these are very minor points and would not stop us making a return trip. We recommend this highly and wish Gary and Karen success with their venture.

Lovely little barn conversion on a farm but take essentials, only small shops locally so expect to drive wherever you go.

“Beautifully renovated cottage, Lovely views from cottage, friendly owners”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Lovely warm welcome, guided tours around property on arrival. The welcome book was very helpful. Lovely views from the cottage, and plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. Would definitely recommend this holiday cottage. Thank you for a lovely week

Only down side were the 2 sofa beds, my teens found them really uncomfortable to sleep on and they were not too comfy to sit on either. Maybe could do with renewing. 5 stars on everything else though.
