“what a real find this was! we loved it and it was in such a lovely area of natural beauty”
Reviewed 25 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed at The Coach House in July and had such a great week staying in this lovely cottage. It was a real home from home and at the end of our days out we really looked forward to coming back and relaxing, especially outside at the front facing the gardens and fields where there was a real sun trap. Whilst sitting inside we could see the endless birds outside. We even had a little wren get inside the cottage and Maureen was really helpful advising us how to help get it out without it hurting itself. It was a really pretty bird. Most evenings we would go for a walk after dinner along the lanes and there was a real lovely stream close by the cottage. We found it quite difficult to find the cottage before we arrived, mainly because we failed to bring the directions which Maureen had sent us, which would have proved valuable. She was extremely helpful and came out to meet us, which was really good of her. It was quite easy after that, but I think we thought the Sat Nav would help, but no such luck. On arrival, we were greeted with a bottle of wine and some chocolates and also there were some lovely fresh flowers displayed in the living room. The cottage was also really well equipped and everyone was of good quality. We also made use of the woodburner on a couple of evenings, which made the cottage even more cosy. We fancied trying out Segway and then surprisingly realised it was on our door step about a few minutes drive away, which was real great fun. We visited a local village of Llanystumdwy which was really interesting and is where David Lloyd George used to live (he was a the prime minister to 1916-22). It is also where the Ty Newydd's writers centre is located. We found a really lovely walk along a river in the early evening in this village near the back of his memorial and it was really peaceful with only a few dog walkers passing by. We also visited locally Porthmadog and Criccieth a number of times during our stay. Not too far away we also visited Beddgelert and Abersoch. We were also really lucky with the weather. Overall, we had a great week and it was made even more special staying at The Coach House and Maureen's hospitality was second to none

The Coach House is home from home.Everything you could want ,from tea and biscuits on arrival to washing and drying facilities if needed. It is very comfortable and well equipped.
The location is perfect for exploring the area whether on foot or by car.The Coastal path from Borth Y Gest to Criccieth is well worth a walk but beware,it is further than you think!
Most car parking seems to be free! and Bus services are quite frequent too although not always on time during busy periods!
Super place to visit

“A truely wonderful place”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

With more than 25 years of experience we can probably say that we are experts when it comes to cottage accommodation.
The coach house was the best we had for years. Beautiful rural location, quiet, lovely beaches, nature reserves, mountains, steam railways, castles and more and all within easy driving distance.
In short everything one could wish for in one package.
Maureen is a wonderful host!

Liked best: home away from home
Liked least: for wifi we had to walk towards the main house for the signal; umbrella was provided so no problem.

“Fabulous little retreat, peace and tranquility.”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We booked late for a five day stay. Maureen greeted us on arrival, a box of chocolates, and tea tray on dining table as a welcome. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, and facilities are all you need for a quiet get away. Cycle route close by, and Criccieth a short drive away. The location is also ideal for day trips to Porthmadog, Pwllheli and Caenarfon. We loved it here, and the dry weather was a bonus.

“Fantastic stay - couldn't ask for more.”
Reviewed 24 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

I cannot recommend the Coach House highly enough, particularly for those looking for a break to 'get away from it all'. The house and it's facilities are excellent - it is comfortable and contains everything you could possibly need for a short break away.
The Coach House is set in an idyllic rural location, surrounded by well kept gardens and peaceful countryside and lots of good walking opportunities; however, it is only a short drive from the busier coastal towns of Criccieth and Abersoch, ensuring good access to other facilities.I had the best night's sleep I had had for years :-)
The owner, Maureen, was welcoming friendly and very helpful. A ten out of ten!
