Well, this is in the middle of nowhere, but certainly worth eking (?) out. Very professionally done, spotless, good cuisine/breakfasts. Of particularly note is Grant's absolutely superb homemade orange marmalade. Definitely even better than Frank Cooper's etc. and absolutely the best I've ever tasted. A 'must'. Visit the local Pistyll Rhadreadr highest waterfall in Wales.

Following an on line search we discovered The Hand. What a great place (although we took a tortuous route driving there then (thankfully) realised there was an infinitely better one which we took on our return. I guess we should have taken the route advice! Men do not ask for route help!!!)

The Hand is situated in a superb spot and perfect for those touring and looking to enjoy this beautiful part of Wales. It does not disappoint

Super warm welcome, nicely varied menu and absolutely delicious quality food. The staff were appropriately attentive.

We will be returning to enjoy more of this 'find'.

Absolutely gorgeous food came for lunch with my other half. Had salmon to start, steak sandwich and the burger for main and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Delicious! Can’t wait to return! Great food and atmosphere

I can’t really add much to the strong reviews on The Hand that are already in Trip Advisor. This is a lovely period pub with comfy rooms in deepest Wales. What sets it apart are great staff, a superb ambiance in the bar ( full of locals) and it has a surprisingly good restaurant ( I say surprising as this is a hotel a long way from anywhere!). Our room was clean, our bed was big and the linen was good quality. Lots of hot water, deep free-standing bath. It even offers a spa!

Stayed one night on a whim because it looked interesting. Likewise came in from Ostwestry along the ridge top and lane ways - very exciting and drops you into the picture postcard village LLarnarmon. Exited via Chick which was much more mundane.

Lovely roomy room comfy bed. Large bathroom complete with a claw foot bath !
A bit of thumping from the room upstairs

Dinner was beautifully prepared and presented. Porridge with Scotch for breakfast (not quite in character) and home made jam.

In all a very comfortable stay. i would have loved to have stayed longer.
