Called in for lunch(last visited 20+yrs.ago!) last week with the new dog.
This is a friendly welcoming establishment run by professionals, lunch was taken from an interesting menu that did actually use top quality locally sourced produce, unlike many establishments today that use the "local" branch of Brakes!
Well presented by enthusiastic staff, great portions and sensibly priced.
Can be a problem getting restaurant quality in an informal pub setting at pub prices, the Hand has achieved it in spades...well done to proprietors and their staff.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It it always fantastic when someone takes the trouble to write and appreciates what we try to do here. We do hope that you visit us again soon (especially given the fact that we all fell head over heels in love with your new puppy)!

Kind regards,

Jonathan

This was a last minute booking as we needed somewhere to stay in the area. We have stayed before but in one of the rooms at the back. This time we had the gorgeous room at the front of the pub with an enormous king size bed. It's that beautiful one in the photos. We also had dinner, although we opted to eat in the bar so we could have our dog with us. The food was excellent and they have a very good range of wines. We would recommend and will definitely be back if we are in the area.

Very much enjoyed my recent visit to The Hand. My room was beautifully warm, the bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. I have been visiting the hand for many years and this was the first time I had been since the new owners took over. Unfortunately the member of staff that we first came across was completely unwelcoming which was a shame because the previous owners would welcome us so beautifully, it was an older bar lady who was rude, unhelpful and generally unpleasant and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Shame that we arrived on a tuesday as we were later told that that is the only day she works! The rest of the staff such as the younger girls were an absolute delight but it really was a shame that we were met by this older woman who made us all feel very downheartened, after a long journey we were looking forward to arriving but were very disappointed. She should also be aware that we heard every word of the conversation she then went on to have with another member of staff thinking we couldn't hear her. I would seriously re evaluate which staff you have greeting people on arrival as we were honestly appalled at how we were met, such a shame because the rest of our time was so lovely just could've done without that! Would love to visit again we just won't be there on a Tuesday if that's the sort of welcome to be expected.

What a terrific Christmas lunch we had today. The menu was exceptional and the execution of each meal was perfect. I've uploaded a pic of the menu so you can see just how mouth-watering it was. Really imaginative, to be honest and all local ingredients prepared to the highest standard. The welcome from the hosts was lovely, carols gently burbled in the background, the fire crackled and there was marvellous choice of wines.

On another note, I have actually stayed here, too, on a previous occasion and can also highly recommend staying at the hotel for its cosy and beautifully presented bedrooms, sumptuous breakfast and incredibly well-stocked and friendly bar, full of the most wonderful variety of people both local and otherwise. The host and hostess manage the various needs of their customers with easy grace and skill. In fact, all the staff are polite, capable and welcoming.

Nothing I could possibly suggest might improve this lovely hotel and restaurant. Try it for yourself - well worth the journey through the ravishing Welsh countryside for the welcome you will receive.

Arriving late on a cold dark foggy evening it was delightful to find the hotel looking resplendant on the outside and find an equally warm welcome inside. It was quiet (week before Christmas) with only a few people in the bar and a few staying overnight. The room was very pleasant and everything thoughfully provided for a comfy stay. It was a little on the small side but like many old inns the originally reasonable sized room had been sectioned off to create an en suite. Overall it was very good value. Light of the morning confirmed The Hand is in a fantastic country setting in the small village of LLanarmon DC. It's hard to find critisism of the delicious breakfast except to say there was no need to serve it on a plate the size of Andora. Next time I need accommodation in this area I will definitely return. Well done The Hand for providing a great service in a small village in a less touristy area of North Wales.
