I love this place. We've been coming to the Royal Oak for years now to eat and drink, as we stay in a house just over the road on our holidays. My husband has also stayed in one of the rooms and was very impressed (and said the breakfast was excellent)
There's always a friendly face behind the bar to serve you either a very tasty ale or cider (you must try 'Happy Daze' cider) and if you're eating, get Chris to make one of his famous super dooper burgers in a charcoal bun with mac and cheese and all the trimmings - superb. Great chips too (no oven chip rubbish)
The pub itself is charming. If it's cold outside then there's an open fire burning away to cosy up to on the inside. If it's warm outside, they have a nice beer garden or tables out the front overlooking the fantastic view. Not to be missed.
Oh and there's a little shop attached to the pub for essentials and icecream and some local homemade bits and bobs.
