Description: Spindini is a Memphis favorite that specializes in Italian. We concentrate on traditional Italian food prepared with a modern twist. You'll also see that the menu denotes dishes cooked in the wood-burning oven, made with organically-grown produce harvested at Woodland Farms, a company owned farm, or made with honey from Spindini's own bee hives. Everything in this trendy, South Main neighborhood spot is oh so nice. With dreamy food, a passionate staff, and warmth that goes beyond ambience this place is truly a local's favorite. Pastas, chicken, seafood and veal comprise the menu, along with the occasional special that relies on gutsy, robust flavors Open Sunday-Thursday 5pm-10pm Friday-Saturday 5pm-11pm Open for Lunch Wednesday-Sunday 11am-3pm

We searched for good Italian in Memphis and we picked spindini. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting. Service was top notch, they cared for our every need, and best of all was the food. I cannot say enough about the food. There were 16 of us and we ordered a good mix from the menu. I had the Red snapper, which was wonderful. Another had eggplant primavera, which was perfectly prepared. The pasta, salads, the main courses were all shared by all with rave reviews from all, don't forget the chocolate peanut butter creame brulee. This was a fabulous experience for all of us. Thanks for an excellent evening.

The atmosphere is contemporary casual. It has full bar, parking on the side and a covered patio area for pleasant days.

I had the Eggplant Rollatini with garlic mash potatoes. The eggplant rolls were good with mozzarella and just enough sauce. My husband and our friends had the veal in the marsala sauce. It came with angel hair pasta and tomatoes. They said it was very good. All of us had the Mia Nonna salad. The Italian dressing was not overpowering.

We truly enjoyed a our meal and our drinks.

I went with two friends late at night. The place was filled with a large noisy crowd. It was very dimly lit which would have been great if you were looking for romance, but the noise level was too high for that. When I say dimly lit, I mean we had trouble reading the menu it was so dark. Avoid the toasted ravioli. It is just so dry that it almost was inedible. The spaghetti Bolognese on the other hand was delicious. Their cocktails are all great. I was just a little taken back because it advertises to be high end, and while they do have high end prices, the atmosphere just doesn't fit.

Placed an order to go. Cesar salad and Farfalle Shrimp. Cesar salad had about 12 pieces of lettuce, 3 croutons NO shredded parmesan - $9 really? Shrimp was ok - no toasted bread served with it - like it usually is. Total bill was $36+ - I want my money back.

We ate dinner here before attending a play at the Orpheum Theater. We explained our time constraints to our server who made sure we received our dinner promptly but without being rushed. However, the food was nothing special. My lasagna was overcooked and very salty so I did not eat it. My companions' meals were more edible but not great.
